Slowly saying goodbye to my home in Groningen, the Netherlands. It’s a bittersweet feeling to outgrown a place that holds you so tenderly. To know that a chapter is closing, but also that there is something new awaiting you. Leaving once again, I’m not meant to stay. 🌿🌺

Poem by @cameron.nuttall :

“You’ve outgrown this place my child. You’ve been returning to our arms for many years now. But the work you must do is bigger than this place can offer you. You have so much to see my child. You’re not meant to stay in this world. You live between worlds. You know that. You’ve always known that. So open your palms. Let the water through, let the light through, let it all pass. I hear from distant lands, that there are places calling you. There are people you must meet. There are stories you must hear. You must grow my child. You must follow the call. You must go back —back. You can’t move forward without also going back. Maybe one day it will all make sense. You’ll grow up and up and up. Reaching through the canopy like a tall fan palm. Splayed open and basking in the light. You’ll look down and see the shape of the river below. A serpent who winds, twists and turns. This is the shape of your memory. The shape of your ancestors. Remember my child, you are the river. So let yourself flow, let go of fear and hold onto courage. You know which way to go.”

Thank you all for joining our guided nature walk this weekend🌿

We learned about the history of the River Wandle and Morden Hall Park, paused for poetry reflection in the rose garden, sketching and tree bark rubbings, and learned how shire horses help maintain the marsh wetlands delicate ecosystem each summer. A reminder of how grounding it can be to move slowly, notice details and reconnect with nature and community 🤎

Join us 7–10th August for the 10th anniversary of Black Camping Club, where @exhibits_app will be hosting a “Living Exhibition”. Tickets are live now (link in bio) ✨
