Say hello to @camilleeeoo 🇵🇭

👋 Camille’s Print Shop specializes in hand-carved linoleum block prints and apparel. Camille is a print artist who enjoys illustrating stories about growing up Filipino-American in Los Angeles.

🤲 I love being a part of the Los Angeles creative community. I also love supporting the many local small businesses and organizers. My full time job is at Square. I really enjoy helping people better understand the tools and capabilities out there for their small businesses to thrive.

✨ co-mrkt has always been an amazing center that supports AAPI artists. I really feel at home and connected through co-mrkt. Through this community I get to see how passion driven projects impact and raise awareness to the talented community of creatives here in Los Angeles. This energy inspires me to tap into my creativity and push myself to be more comfortable with my authentic self.

🐚 Artist Highlight 🐚

“Bakya” by @camilleeeoo
Date: Oct 2022
Medium: Speedball block printing ink
Dimensions: 8x10

Inspiration:
In third grade, we had to do a presentation on a country of our choice. Of course, I chose the Philippines.

I remember we had to wear something culturally traditional and bring food to share with the class. I brought lumpia. My family has an amazing recipe.

My mom came home one day with these beautiful wooden shoes for my attire. It might have been the first time I remember feeling an attachment to my filipino culture. I kept thinking, how could these wooden slippers be so beautiful. In the heel, a meticulously carved design of a bahay kubo. The strap was an unnecessarily intricate crochet design of a flower and leaves. I was in love.

Though the shoe was a little too big, I didn’t mind. I felt so beautiful wearing them.

I just finished culling through 900+ photos that were taken on my camera and we still have photos from a second camera to go through 😂 This Frieren group has been in the making for MONTHS and it’s surreal to believe it finally happened, I had so much fun cosplaying with friends I rarely see 😭 it’s crazy to think of the hours we put into our cosplays only for the moment to go by in the blink of an eye…truly fitting with the concept of time in Frieren. The prep, the conversations and then finally coming together was a journey in itself and I can’t wait to share with everyone 💖 #frieren #frierenbeyondjourneysend #frierencosplay #葬送のフリーレン

Such amazing creative partners for this @angiegarland and @rosanne_rr & @kaijulekramp

Capturing real people sharing their world, work and space is one of the absolute JOYS of my life. It’s such a privilege to be a voyeur and learn something new about how to do life.
