Ever wonder what a campsite actually looks like before you reserve?👇🏻

We recently started filming complete campground and site tours to show you the layout. No more guessing based on outdated photos!

Check out our YT channel (chorgantravels) to see where we’ve stayed - or at least get some good ASMR of @cknorris walking 😂

Sometimes the best way to appreciate a campsite is to zoom WAY out. 🌲🏕️

Look closely at the far right as this video begins and you’ll spot our Dynamax, Jeep and little patch of home tucked alongside the Laramie River.

Then the real star of the show takes over.

What looks like a river winding through the valley is actually an enormous network of ponds, channels and wetlands shaped in large part by generations of beavers. 🦫 From ground level, you only see pieces of it. From the air, you realize just how dramatically these little engineers have transformed the landscape.

They slow the water, spread it across the valley floor and create habitat that supports an incredible amount of wildlife.

And for a few days, we get to live right on the edge of it.

Not a bad backyard. ❤️

One of the questions we get all the time is: “How do you find places to camp for free?”

These are some of the resources we use when we’re looking for a free or inexpensive place to stay:

📍 Campendium — great for finding dispersed camping, reviews, photos and information from other RVers.

📍 Boondockers Bible — helpful for finding boondocking locations and information about camping areas.

📍 Harvest Hosts — not always free since membership is required and some hosts have additional fees, but it can be a great way to find unique places to stay.

And don’t forget to think outside the box. Some Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, Walmarts and other businesses may allow overnight RV parking.

⚠️ The important part: NEVER assume overnight parking is allowed. Check the specific location, city/county ordinances and posted signs, and always ask the business when appropriate.

And remember to leave your campsite exactly how you found it—or better. Free camping only stays an option when we respect the places we’re using.

Save this for your next travel day! 🏕️

We could use a little help from the solar experts out there. ☀️⚡️

Lately, our portable panels just don’t seem to be producing quite as efficiently as they used to. Same basic setup, plenty of Colorado sunshine… but somehow the output isn’t what we’d expect.

We figured we’d post a photo of the setup in case a fresh set of eyes can spot something we’re missing. 👀

Any obvious problems jump out at you? 😂🐾

Boy did we get lucky and find a hidden gem of a campground!

We had rolled into Cresent city around 5pm yesterday and realized we were not going to have enough time to explore the redwoods as we headed south to a rest stop we planned to stay at for the night. We stopped by Walmart for supplies and contemplated staying in the parking lot there but this area seemed so cool I wanted a campspot if possible.

After searching on my phone and finding that all the state parks were full, I noticed a county campground only 7 min away that was first come first serve. I use many apps to search for campgrounds, off grid locations and rest stops. One I have always had success with is @campendium
I have used it for several years now and it almost always proves to be my go to app to explore and area to see what amenities are around me with current user reviews, photos and updated information and I highly recommend it. I’m not sponsored or affiliated with them at all, just giving kudos where they are deserved for a great app.

So while Marne is in the store getting supplies I jump in the van and take off to check out Florence Keller Regional Park. I was so stoked to find it was not only in its own little grove of redwoods and there were available sites but that it was only $20 a night!

Found the perfect site, went back and picked up Marne and we had a wonderful evening with Marne whipping up an awesome pesto tomato and mozzarella pasta, a sound sleep and now ready to drive south and explore the Redwood National Park with time to space.

Our friends started calling this the Mobley Magic many many years ago and over time we have become a believer! 😂🥰👍 #mobleymagic #perfectcampspot #florencekellerrecreationpark #florencekellercampground
