Because at the end of the day, the miles don’t matter if the MAN running them isn’t leading at home.

I don’t run to escape my family, I run to show up for them. How?

To be healthier.
More present.
More disciplined.
More capable of leading the people who matter most.

Being a good husband and dad isn’t about perfection.

It’s about effort….daily effort.

The same effort I put into training, I put into my marriage and my kids.

Every mile makes me better, so I can be better for them.

Here’s to all the husbands and dads out here finding balance, chasing goals, and loving their families through it all.

Dad Up!

Keep running. Keep leading. Keep loving.

Clay Garrett thought he was doing everything right. A steady career. Providing for his family. Checking the boxes we all get handed. Then the pandemic took his job and with it, the illusion that he was fully present. What happened next was not about chasing a new title but about slowing down and choosing intention. His story reminded me that sometimes the pause is the beginning of something better.

There is something powerful about being forced off autopilot. Clay had been working for decades, moving from one “good job” to the next. Then everything stopped.

In the stillness, he noticed what really lit him up was not a title or a paycheck, but connection.

Family breakfasts, building with his dad, and playing games with his kids. That is what success began to look like. His shift is a reminder to ask ourselves what truly matters.

While laid off due to COVID from his Graphic Design career of 25 years, Clay Garrett used this time VERY wisely to rethink and realign his true purpose. The result? He became the Creator and Founder of the Campfire Gentleman community - a personal development space that is safe, and designed to spark connection, clarity, and growth in the everyday lives of husbands and fathers.

Tune in, as Clay shares his own experiences of rediscovering his connections with family - using the COVID shutdown for immersive, meaningful connections with his loved ones, from playing games with his son, to woodworking with his father, to morning coffee on the backporch with his wife.

Clay also gives insights on the five pillars to live by, as he discusses in his newsletter: Family, Purpose, Growth, Health, and Simplicity.
