Friends,

Summer camp played a huge role in shaping me as a young person. It truly was a foundational time in my life. I will be forever be grateful for the experiences I had growing up at two different camps in Ontario. Did you go to summer camp? Where? What was meaningful for you from your time there?

It’s the little things. Probably the ones people don’t think about. Catching tadpoles, campfire, snakes, playing soccer in the field, seeing familiar faces with familiar scars, breakfast with your parents and siblings, canoes…. The list goes on.
Liam doesn’t ever ask for much…. But to have the opportunity to take him and these ❤️‍🩹 babies on fun trips among all the hard stuff, is such a blessing.
With such busy lives, it’s nice to press pause sometimes and take it all in.
We’re so thankful to the @childrensheartnetwork and @campkawkawa for a fun weekend full of the little things that become core memories.
Thank You for allowing us in on this weekend💙🩵

Over the last little while, many of you have been following along with my 100 Days of Opinions challenge.

This weekend, I felt called to slow down and really reflect.

What’s the point of sharing my opinion day after day? Is it helping anyone? Is it fruitful for me? For others?

I’m grateful for another opportunity to step away from the noise and spend time with 20+ incredible young men and women of faith here in the beautiful Hope region of BC.

No chasing. No performing. No proving.

Just conversations about Christ, His grace, His love, our identity in Him, and who He’s calling us to become.

In a world driven by the internet, money, distractions, comparison, and distorted versions of truth, I’m realizing more and more that what people are truly searching for is peace.

Real peace.

The kind that isn’t dependent on circumstances.

The kind that comes from knowing who you are, whose you are, and walking one day at a time.

I’m thankful for the encouragement, support, and kind words I’ve received over the last 11 months of recovery and throughout this strange, fun, and unexpected 100-day experiment.

I’ve got a few ideas for what’s next.

For now, I’m going to be still, enjoy good company, and listen for where God is leading.

One day at a time. ❤️

Some of our students who will be serving @campkawkawa this summer had their commissioning service this evening. Some of their parents were able to join them for it. Please be praying for them, the campers and all who will be serving at camp this summer!

Friends,

Tomorrow morning I have the honour of baptizing our daughter Elizabeth in our 10am service @sevenoaksalliancechurch (in person in the Chapel & online via our church website). So grateful for her journey and that she will be publicly declaring her faith in Jesus as her Saviour in the context of church community. Also thankful for the family and friends that are planning on joining us for the special occasion. If you want to be there, you’re more than welcome to attend!

Though it may not feel like summer quite yet, in just a few weeks, kids will be finishing up the school year and heading to the lakes and mountains for summer camps! 🏕️⁠

Camp is a transformative time for so many kids and youth. Being able to explore new interests, make lifelong friendships, and create unforgettable memories is so important for their growth and development! ⁠

This year, the average cost of a week at camp is $600 — a price not many families can afford and out of reach especially for low-income families.⁠
