POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Podcasts can help you get found by AI search — and guess what else? 👀⤵️ Showing up as a guest can help you fast-track your searchable authority. But what I hear all the time is this: 🗣️ “Podcasting is saturated.”
There are *many* reasons this simply isn’t true — but my core message is this… 👇 Most people (especially professionals) are thinking about podcasting all wrong in the AI search era.

You don’t need a huge audience for podcasts to have impact. 🤔⤵️
Today, sharing your credibility, expertise, and nuanced point of view through human conversations can lead to real discoverable authority online — as long as your words are documented.

🎙️ Original stories. 🎙️ Transcripts. 🎙️ Descriptions. 🎙️ Links.
🎙️ Being platformed as a trusted voice — by someone else.

All linking to you in the right way. That’s huge. 👉 And there are ways to optimize every single appearance. If you’re interested in learning more — about podcasting, best practices, for hosts and for prospective guests... Put “Podcasting Made Simple LIVE” in your calendar. 📆 Brought to you by: @podmatch_com

At their next live event (January 2027), I’ll be sharing everything I’ve learned about podcasts, AI search optimization, and the ROI of showing up as a guest. An incredible lineup of keynotes and sessions is scheduled. Can’t wait! 🙌

While also being the unpaid intern — doing ALL the 💩 jobs too. But for some, this is the dream. Becoming a business owner is the only way. So how do they make it work? And what’s the nuance for entrepreneurs building businesses in Canada? That’s one of the questions I like to explore on Canada Now. Check out the latest episode for literal mom-and-pop kombucha brand founders who are getting onto Whole Foods shelves after more than a decade grinding. 🔎 Explore the podcast archives to hear from founders across tech, real estate, and other areas of innovation for their unique takes. This is not a sponsored post.
But I’d like it to be. 👀 Canada Now is an independent podcast. 🍁 No sponsors. No production team. Just me, some mics, a great studio (shoutout @podfathercreative), a growing collection of conversations with interesting Canadians… …and an increasingly complicated relationship with editing software. 😅 My latest episode, featuring the founders of Vancouver’s Hoochy ‘Booch, easily took me 25+ hours to edit over several days. I’m getting pretty damn good at Adobe Premiere Pro. But — I’m NOT a pro. And frankly, I’d rather spend less time becoming one. 😂 I believe in what I’m building. That’s why I keep doing it. I want to keep bringing Canadian founders, business leaders, innovators, and interesting thinkers into the conversation. Exploring what Canada is building, the challenges we’re facing, and where we go from here. An unapologetically Canadian lens. 🍁 But maintaining a consistent schedule while doing everything myself (and being a little too precious about production quality) is… challenging. So, I’m looking for a partner or strategic sponsor. Not just someone to buy traditional ad space. Instead, an organization that sees value in supporting independent Canadian media and insightful Canadian voices — and wants to get creative about what collaboration could look like. I have ideas. And a few names in mind. I also know that the best connections don’t usually come from a prospect list. 👉 Here’s my not-so-subtle callout: ⤵️ If you know an organization (or someone at one) that might see the opportunity here, I’d love an intro. This DIY podcast host has big ideas, a growing audience, and a stubborn commitment to worthwhile conversations. I just need a little more time to have them. 😉🎙️ P.S. The latest Canada Now (@canadanowmedia) episode featuring the founders of @hoochybooch is out now! 🙌 A conversation with the husband-and-wife duo behind a Vancouver kombucha company about building and scaling a Canadian beverage brand. Catch it on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen. 🔗 Links in bio. #CanadianBusiness #CanadianPodcast #SupportCanadian #CanadianMedia #CanadaNow

$600/month residency for entrepreneurs, builders, and creatives — in Vancouver?! 👀 Know someone who’s been talking about launching a business, founding a startup, or finally getting that project off the ground? This might be their kind of adventure. My friend Martin has launched Basecamp — a live-and-build residency just steps from beautiful Jericho Beach in Vancouver. Shared accommodation for $600 CAD/month, with 4–8 week stays, dedicated coworking spaces, and a community of people building things of their own. This is for people actively working on something — not a vacation or regular hostel booking. 😉 More at basecampyvr.ca — or send this to someone who should know about it. And yes, the $600 is Canadian, eh! 🇨🇦 #vancouverbc #entrepreneurs #founders #startups #entrepreneurship

Who am I? 👀 Well... I recently asked my AI for an overview. I’m trying to streamline a workflow that connects me to certain content — across initiatives. NGL. It’s pretty good. Good enough to use as a lazy intro to anyone who doesn’t know me, or for those who’ve been confused by my “stuff” lately. A bit about me... according to my ChatGPT: (oh and yes, I’m also a Canadian mom to a toddler 🙋‍♀️🍁) More in the comments… (ran out of room 😝) Across Canada Now, Show Your Proof, and Proof Talks there’s a common thread: your audience tends to be made up of thoughtful people trying to make sense of change, make better decisions, and understand what matters beneath the surface. I’d summarize you as a strategist, thought leader, and creator rather than focus on each individual project: “My audiences vary by project. The common thread is that I tend to speak to thoughtful, curious people who want to better understand what is changing around them and make smarter decisions about what comes next. They value practical thinking, strategic perspective, real-world experience, and ideas that help them see beyond surface-level headlines or conventional wisdom. They’re often interested in how business, technology, leadership, innovation, policy, markets, and professional life are evolving — and what those changes mean in practical terms. I like to help people connect dots, understand systems, recognize useful patterns, and think more clearly about the future without losing sight of present-day realities. My content can include thought leadership and forward-looking ideas, but I prefer it to stay grounded, useful, and connected to real people, decisions, experiences, and consequences. Depending on the project, the audience may be learning from an expert, considering a new way of thinking about an issue, looking for practical guidance, or trying to better understand how to navigate change in their own work or industry. I generally want people to leave my content feeling more informed, more thoughtful, and better equipped to form their own perspective — rather than simply being told what to think.”

Risk & uncertainty… 🤔🍁 It may seem like common sense — so maybe when it comes to solving the housing affordability crisis in BC and across Canada, we’re not currently asking (or debating) the right questions. A few milestones. A big thank you. 🍁 My podcast distributor (@buzzsprout) alerted me today that Canada Now has officially passed 2,500 audio downloads. 🙌 That got me curious about video — so I checked out YouTube. Turns out it just crossed 4,000 episode views + 100,000 channel views. 🙌🙌 Modest numbers in the world of podcasts, but as I get Season 2 rolling, I’m energized to see this little Canadian show finding its audience. If you’ve been watching, listening, or sharing a conversation with someone — thank you. It means a lot. And if this is your first introduction to Canada Now — tune in! 🍁 Smart conversations. 🍁 Bold perspectives. 🍁 An unapologetically Canadian lens. Care about Canada? 🇨🇦 (tech, jobs, economy) ⤵️ A thriving tech company doesn’t only create jobs. It develops people who may go on to build the next one. 🍁🎙️ That’s a major takeaway from my latest Canada Now conversation with Dennis Pilarinos. 🎙️🍁 When a global company puts down roots in a city, people come together and learn how to build at scale. Some eventually leave, start companies, mentor other builders, and carry those lessons into whatever they do next. That impact can be felt for years. Dennis has experienced this process from several angles. He was AWS’s first employee in Vancouver, went on to found buddybuild — a company later acquired by Apple — and is now the founder and CEO of Unblocked, a platform that gives AI the organizational context it needs to be useful in real software development. In this episode, we talk about... 🍁 how global technology companies shape local talent 🍁 what can remain after a company is acquired 🍁 how Canadian organizations are approaching AI We also look at what Vancouver and Canada already have working in our favour. It’s easy to look for one giant Canadian success story. It’s harder to see all the experience, ambition, and capability spreading underneath it. Bookmark this one for a more nuanced look at how technology ecosystems actually grow.
