Extra post for @canamcustoms Mark Amies. Close up pictures of the prototype/preproduction wheels for #matchbox SF20 Lamborghini Marzal manufactured in 1969. Pictured is a pre-production, actually more of a prototype, for the new Superfast line. When Mattel’s Hot Wheels debuted in May of 1968, the sales of Matchbox started to decline. Lesney Matchbox old style “regular wheels” could not compete with Hot Wheels frictionless Red Line Wheels. Lesney Matchbox panicked and raced into the fast diecast party! New wheels were designed on clever plastic suspension strips attached inside the chassis. This Marzal preproduction model from late 1968 or very early 1969 has the new prototype solid disc wheels! Swipe left for extra photos. #matchboxsuperfast #toys #toycollector #madeinengland

#73 matchbox 1962-63 F1 “Shark-nose” Ferrari. Restomod x2. Both models were relatively intact, both playworn and 1 with a broken axle. I discovered the hubs were available on the motorcycle models but tires were too large. I used them anyway on the rear of number 7. Three sets of decals were purchased from https://www.blacksquaredecals.co.uk/ in order to have side numbers in single digits. The bike got fixed too but that is another story. #blacksquare #sharknoseferrari #matchboxcollector #vintagef1 #ferrariclassic #restomods

Hey kid's it's Big Ben! Saw more places like the Globe Theater. Matchbox, matchmakers ward the side of the old Lesney Factory. Also had a nice chat with @canamcustoms he gifted me a Ford Corsair Lonestar Diecast. Great day.

For the age the casting stands up well. Needs a little bit of fine detailing but that will happen in time. #vitesse #mini #scalemodel #scale143 #austinminicity

As we approach the end of the year it's time to look back and reflect on what sort of year it has been for the UK diecast collector. @mattel must be aware of how we've been "turned over" by @tescofood in relation to their incompetence when ordering Matchbox. @matchboxworld It has been impossible to complete the Matchbox range this year because @tescofood (the exclusive UK supplier) simply haven't ordered the whole collection, when they DO have new stock, it's another box of old stuff that we already had months ago. This exclusive deal has to end as soon as possible, and Matchbox should be available in ALL supermarkets, like they seem to be in the USA.
I hope other UK collectors will add their comments, and somebody at @mattel takes notice.
We may be wasting our time and perhaps nothing will change, but if we don't try, it's definite that nothing will change, so I feel we have to keep trying. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🙂

Hotwheels Mercedes 300sl. Found behind the front door. Thanks @canamcustoms for the post. Typically this should have been in the last picture too. What a great day. Mark has sent lots to me over the past few years. So thanks again. #inthemailtoday
