Last night I had the pleasure to attend the advanced screening of 'Street Fighter' in Toronto.

On behalf of our partners at @canaskcine we could enjoy this World Warrior Screening thanks to @thetarogroup and @paramountpics

They brought Canadian own Callina Liang for a quick intro and Q&A. Liang plays Chun-Li and she killed 💪

'Street Fighter' is now playing in theatres and watching on the big screen with a lot of fans is always good!

Day 11th, a.k.a the last day, so here are my final first impressions at #TIFF26

Alpha Gang is a silly sci-fi comedy packed with clever metaphors that, with time, could become a true cult classic. With an amazing ensemble and plenty of fun, this was a surprisingly entertaining ride from beginning to end!

🎬🎬🎬

Girl Group is nothing more than a spin-off/homage to Pitch Perfect. It has its moments and some fun along the way, but overall, it’s pure cliché and feels like something we’ve seen many times before.

🎬 1/2

Up Against It is a dramedy full of heart, thanks to a great cast led by Antonio Banderas and young actress Eden Hamilton. Despite all the comings and goings throughout our lives, this movie is a beautiful and heartfelt celebration of it all.

🎬🎬🎬

Faith is a powerful movie. It might not resonate as much with non-religious audiences, but it’s a beautifully crafted story. Erin Doherty is superb, while James McAvoy brings such an effortless sense of comfort to this moving film about loss, grief, and finding a way forward.

🎬🎬🎬

La Bola Negra is a poetic and beautifully directed film, with stunning visuals and a touching love story at its core. However, it tries to achieve more than it needs to, ultimately taking away from some of the beauty and emotional impact of the story at its heart.

Zach Cregger is a director to really watch out for, and by that I mean watch EVERYTHING this guy is going to direct in the future. Before I go any further I wanted to thank @SonyPicturesCanada @thetarogroup @ResidentEvil and @canaskcine for the free tickets this past Wednesday evening! Zach Cregger has an eye for a great shot and he doesn’t waste any time getting to the best parts of the movie in a creative and organic way. He was a stand up comedian way before he was a successful horror film director. I’ve seen everyone one of his 3 amazing horror films in the theatre starting with the surprise hit Barbaraian. I think there is something about his comedic background that makes him the perfect person to tell a certain type of fantasy horror story. Resident Evil, his reboot of the massive horror survival game franchise, is no exception. It is fast, funny, horrific and human all at the same time. If you want to see an EXCELLENT video game adaptation that is done in a way that doesn’t feel like your typical video game adaptation then look no further than Resident Evil (2026). Also, Austin Abrams”every human” performance is one for the ages! This movie and his performance really makes you feel for this poor schlub who someone becomes the main character in this horrifying, yet fascinating video game horror universe which is Reaident Evil! 4.5/5 #bekindandrewind1984 #zachcregger #austinabrams #horrorvideogame #ResidentEvil

Let's continue with my first impressions after eight days at #TIFF26

Still a few more movies to come!

Léa Seydoux delivers a great performance in a movie that tackles a delicate and important subject, exploring the real-life monsters that exist among us. Unfortunately, the film approaches such a powerful topic in a rather too “gentle” way, which ultimately takes away some of its impact.

🎬🎬 1/2

Bunker marks the first time Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz share the screen as a longtime married couple, and what a cinematic pairing it is! Florian Zeller once again proves why he is such a remarkable filmmaker, delivering a haunting, emotionally charged masterpiece that stays with you long after the credits roll.

🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬

Bitter Christmas is a clever dramedy about the creative process of writers and directors, exploring just how far they are willing to dive into their personal lives to bring their stories to the screen. Almodóvar’s signature colorful aesthetic, combined with a fantastic cast, keeps the film engaging and captivating as it moves between its two timelines.

🎬🎬🎬 1/2

Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty! is a movie about grief that, thanks to a smart and clever script and a delightful performance by Rinko Kikuchi, turns what could have been a heavy and heartbreaking story into something genuinely enjoyable, funny, and full of charm.

🎬🎬🎬 1/2

The Man I Love is a movie that could have said much but did little due a messy writing and a boring pace. It manages to hold up thanks to the outstanding performances by Rami Malek and Tom Sturridge, who bring much more depth and intensity to the material than the script deserves.

🎬🎬

The Liberation is a powerful movie based on a true story about a woman carrying childhood trauma who, because of how vulnerable she still is, gets manipulated by the charming leader of a women-only spiritual group, eventually becoming separated from her family. Carrie Coon delivers a stellar, Oscar-worthy performance, bringing a lot of depth and emotion to the character.

After four days at #TIFF26 here are my first impressions of some of the movies I’ve seen so far.

So many more to come!!! Stay tunned but in the meantime leave your thoughts here as well on those movies or recommendations!

'Being Heumann' is a captivating and beautifully executed biopic about people with disabilities and their ongoing fight for equal rights, a struggle that, unfortunately, is still very much an issue today. Most of all, the movie is a touching dramedy and, beyond that, a powerful lesson in what it truly means to be human.

🎬🎬🎬 1/2

'The Beloved' is a powerful drama about discovering your true self and confronting the consequences it can have on the people around you, both on a movie set and within a relationship with your stranged daughter and lead actress. A masterclass in direction from Rodrigo Sorogoyen, complemented by a magnetic performance from Javier Bardem.

🎬🎬🎬🎬

'Minotaur' is a great movie that uses the political tension surrounding the Russia-Ukraine conflict to explore power, control, and toxic masculinity on this drama about a couple in marital crisis.

🎬🎬🎬🎬

'All That She Wants' is a nicely crafted rom-com full of charm and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish, thanks to the undeniable charisma and chemistry between Annie Murphy and Cooper Raiff.

🎬🎬🎬 1/2

'Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother' is a poetic and deeply moving film about faith, grief, and the importance of caring for a family in the absence of a mother. Mahershala Ali delivers an Oscar worthy performance, while also showing the world how great he is with a Blade! John Cho also gives a stellar performance, adding even more emotional depth to the story.

✨ 💃Thymes Two does TIFF! ✨💃🏼

It was an honour to be at the world premiere of Man in Motion at Roy Thomson Hall during the Toronto International Film Festival. The film touched us deeply!

At just 15 years old, Rick Hansen was involved in a devastating car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Rather than allowing that moment to define his future, Rick went on to redefine what was possible-becoming a Paralympic athlete, an advocate, and inspiring millions through his incredible Man in Motion World Tour.

Watching his story unfold on the big screen was incredibly moving. There was something so special about being in that room, surrounded by Canadians coming together to celebrate the life and legacy of someone who has given so much to our country and to the world.

What a joy and privilege it was to be in the presence of a true Canadian hero-someone who has accomplished so much, inspired generations, and continues to remind us that the human spirit is capable of extraordinary things. 🇨🇦❤️

Thank you, Rick, for showing us what it means to keep moving forward.

'Coyote vs ACME' is (finally 🙌🥰) coming to theatres next week, Aug 28th, and @vvsfilms brought Will Forte and Lana Condor for a special screening at Scotiabank Theatre Toronto!

Thank you everyone for this great event and go see the movie on the big screen, as per Lana's own words 😉

Review is coming soon but I can say it's really well done, funny, nostalgic and heartwarming!
