When your head’s in the clouds
Well, go get your shovel
And we’ll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle

And if there’s somebody you’ll love ‘til you die
Then all that jive talkin’ just gets in your eye

Matt Epler @candyman__eps
Cleveland, Ohio. 2016

I've been revisiting things I shot a decade ago and it's unbelievable the amount of freedom we had but took for granted. To be honest, 2014-2018 were some of the greatest years of my life. Really hitting the crest of riding a wave we all had no idea we were even on, often feeling the force of propulsion but not knowing where it was coming from or when it would end. I look back at the times I spent in the company of The Venturos in Detroit and other cities like Cleveland and I'm thankful for the kindness Matt and the guys has shown me over the years. So here's a good memory with the guys putting on a show at @fuelcleveland. My photos were hanging up on the wall inside the show and my friends were all out on the street. Couldn't ask for a simpler or better time to alive.

All this dog and pony,
still monkeys the whole time
We could not help from flinging shit in our modern suits and ties
Our instincts, they were cringing about how we lived our lives
It didn’t seem we’d lived enough
to even get to die
All these dense distractions so beautifully complex ##

Had a killer time this weekend with the boys, big thanks to @austinj_cox for orchestrating the trip. I wish I could do this trip over and over again, even with almost freezing to death in my tent last night.
