If you’ve spent any time down the rabbit hole of Japanese food videos, chances are you’ve come across the legendary 7-Eleven egg sando 🥚🇯🇵 Yup, we’re talking about those ridiculously soft, fluffy egg salad sandwiches that people seem willing to cross entire cities (and occasionally oceans) to get their hands on. A humble convenience store sandwich that’s somehow achieved cult status. And by all accounts, deservedly so. Naturally, we looked at that and thought... what if we put it on a beef burger? 🤔 Now, we know egg salad on a burger might raise a few eyebrows, but stay with us here! Because we’ve taken that glorious little sandwich as our starting point, thrown in a few more of our favourite Japanese flavours, and turned the whole thing into a little love letter to Japanese food culture. Introducing the Japanese Egg Salad Burger 🍔🔥 Starting with an FFMM beef burger dipped in house teriyaki for a beautiful sweet and savoury glaze, we’re piling on creamy Japanese egg salad, melty mozzarella and Japanese pickles for a little tang and crunch. Then comes a charred spring onion, togarashi & Kewpie mayo bringing some smoky, creamy goodness and a gentle warmth to the party. All tucked into a toasted Jason milk bun. It’s sweet, savoury, creamy, tangy and just a little bit kooky ode to Japan. Probably not what you’d expect to find coming out of a butchery in Woodstock, but eight years into Burger Friday, we’re still finding new things to get excited about. And that’s half the fun 😂🙌 Here’s how it’s going down…
