Champagne for my real friends, real pain for my sham friends. 🥂

42 trips around the sun, and what a ride it’s been. I’m overflowing with gratitude for every single soul who’s been part of this journey. To everyone in these photos (and the many, many, many more who aren’t pictured) — I love you!

Thank you for shaping me, for laughing at and with me, for crying with me, for loving me, and yes… for putting up with me.

You’ve helped make me who I am and I couldn’t be more grateful. Here’s to all the moments we’ve shared, and all the ones still ahead.

Returning to Rutgers to speak to the student-athletes was a surreal, full-circle moment that I’ve dreamed of for years. As I drove through campus, tears welled up in my eyes, overwhelmed by how far I’ve come. Walking into the RAC, where I once lifted weights and ran those brutal stadium steps, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia and gratitude. Then, I saw my name on the big board, hanging in the middle of the arena. I just stood there, in awe, thinking, “What? I am here. This is happening.”

Sharing the floor with Creighton Drury, Rutgers Basketball Class of 1992, was an incredible honor. Together, we shared our stories and encouraged the athletes to own theirs, to build resilience, and to fully embrace this chapter of their lives because these moments will soon be fleeting.

A huge thank you to Kate Hickey and Carey Loch for creating this opportunity. Kate, your support was unwavering, especially when I returned to campus after losing my parents. You were there, working behind the scenes, helping me rebuild the foundation that allowed me not just to survive but to thrive. I’m beyond grateful for this experience, and I hope that in sharing my journey, I inspired these young athletes to believe in their own strength and resilience, and most importantly, to fall in love with their stories.

In RU Spirit and Forever a Scarlet Knight 🥹 …this isn’t goodbye, it’s see you soon ❤️

Beautiful heartfelt poem by @careyloch :

Well it’s off of the banks and down to the south, for Dr. Carissa Liverpool

She’s the brains of our bunch and it’s not just a hunch that’s she a special part of this school

Number fifteen on the mound and number one in the hearts of so many here today

Don’t panic Brian, Roy and Keith, her cell number will stay the same

From playing days to compliance ways, and the varsity r association

Her ability to remember every alum she has ever met is a source of my complete infatuation

Better than most and with all sorts of posts on our LinkedIn - always a plus

Her commitment knows no bounds at all, one night she even slept in the office

Waiting patiently for the perfect opportunity, she didn’t want to rush it

One things for sure, we can guarantee, at VCU she will no doubt crush it!

Taking her leave, with her triple degrees (and a darling family), to raise money for a meaningful cause

All that is left is a heartfelt good bye and a giant round of applause!
