Here’s why we do this: Comfort Creator Collective wasn’t built to just be a service agency. Don’t get me wrong we love editing and designing thumbnails, but CCC aims to be more than that. I built this company so creative people could be encouraged and supported. This means our clients AND our team. For years, I felt like being a creative as a job was a curse. My job would leave me no time and certainly no support for my own creative endeavors. So I knew that when I started this I wanted this to be a core pillar of what we do. And we’ve meeting nearly every Friday for a year! I don’t think being a professional creative should stop you from pursing your passions. I hope everyone of my team members reaches their wildest dreams and CCC can be the place that they do that. #contentcreator #agencylife #creatoreconomy

Why consistency on YouTube matters from our editor @carlascalling Content creation in general is about consistent imperfect but improving action, YouTube is no different. The barrier to entry for YouTube is often much harder than short-form platforms like TikTok or Instagram reels. This makes the rewards of YouTube and the success far more impressive. Consistency is the key to getting there. Consistency doesn’t necessarily mean weekly uploads although we often recommend that for creators whenever feasible. It’s better to produce 1-2 highly well done videos every month for a year, than a short burst of weekly videos for a single month or two then burn out.

Are you afraid of failure? It’s okay if you are. It’s natural. Especially when you’re doing something like content creation which can feel so personal and vulnerable. But you will learn far more from trying and failing than never trying at all. Your failure will be your best teacher. Give yourself permission to fail.

Let’s talk retention! 🪩✨👀 We hear the word retention or retention based editing but it’s important to break down what it truly means. Retention is the continued possession of something and in the case of content creation, we are talking about attention. You can sustain someone’s attention by having a bunch of flashy jump cuts and edits (but that can be so overstimulating and might not actually make sense for your brand) OR… You can set up retention inside of your videos from the script phase and then ENHANCE retention with editing. Setting up a conflict or the stakes, and then giving context as to why this matters (aka why should you stick around to find out what happens) is how you increase retention without having to over edit your videos!

Hi, Meet Carla! Carla is a video editor at CCC. She started working with CCC after reaching out to Sammi on social media — fitting for us, really.  She has a background in journalism and, more specifically, working on the social media desks for major publications. She started sharing her experience as an American living abroad after growing up on YouTube’s ‘Brit Crew’, DamonAndJo, and more.  Outside of work, Carla can be found crocheting, traveling the world, and with a camera (or 3) in tow.

Homeeee ❤️ Gosh, it feels so good to be back in my favourite city. The beautiful thing about living in a city like London is that no matter how good my holiday is, I’m always excited to get back. I’m taking my time to settle in (jet lag had me sleeping until 3 p.m. yesterday and wide awake until 3 a.m. 🫠), but I’ll be back in the swing of things soon enough. Some fun things are coming this way, so I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop. 💌 happy new year, girlies. It’s going to be a good one.
