Deep in the fire, burning through the shadows, deepening into the smoke.

Smoke to lungs, lungs to smoke.

Never forget the fire within. Find the heat from that burning sun. Light the cells from within. Burn till the heat brings forth the life.

Live in the fire of love.

@carlos.riegel ngā mihi for bringing the drums, the fire and the love.

16 May 2026 marked a very special day. The Soul a Psybin project held the first (legal) ceremonial psilocybin session within the palliative care setting in Aotearoa.🍄

It is such an honour to be deepening my relationship with, growing my understanding of, and learning from this ancient medicine.

The healing that occurs at a whakapapa and cellular level, not only for those sitting with the rongoā but for us holding the space too, is and always will be profound.

It was an honour to be within ceremony with you again Dr Fi Darracott-Cankovic, this time holding together rather than being held.

Ngā mihi to my love, @carlos.riegel for your deep resonance with music, for creating the essential sound scape, and for your teachings and encouragement to play with sound and vibration myself. All was essential in holding and moving through the medicine session. Bring on the opportunities for music to be in person, to be receptive and responsive in the moment to allow the deeper vibratory dance between oro and rongoā.

Big love to Dove Hospice for all your support and for all that you have done, are doing and are yet to do for so many.

Shout out to our wider team within the Psychedelic Assisted Care Collective you are all awesome and for all the support, guidance, and love nationally and internationally. ❤️

Tū Wairua is a Hauora Māori initiative designed, led, and directed by Māori (Rangiwaho, Ngāi Tāmanuhiri), investigating the safety and effectiveness of administering rongoā Māori psilocybe taonga species to whānau suffering from problematic methamphetamine use (PMU).

Health psychologist Anna-Leigh Hodge (Te Rarawa, Ngātiwai) and resident community member at @mangaroafarms is a wahine Māori working at the interface of mātauranga Māori, rongoā Māori, clinical psychology, and emerging psychedelic research with Tū Wairua all within a tikanga and wairua-grounded framework - recently interviewed by @debate_mag.

"What drew me to psilocybin within a rongoā Māori framework was not an interest in the substance alone, but in the wider healing potential that can emerge when this work is held in a way that is accountable to whakapapa, tikanga, wairua, whenua, and whānau. Rongoā Māori is not simply about plant medicine in isolation; it is about restoring balance and strengthening mauri through relationship."

November 2025: Tū Wairua Wānanga at Rangiwaho Marae.

Rangiwaho Marae hosted Tū Wairua whānau, community leaders, health practitioners and academics from across the motu to hear from Tū Wairua Researcher and Health Psychologist Anna-Leigh Hodge (Ngātiwai, Te Rarawa) the insights and kōrero gathered and experience shared from the Phase One clinical trial which was completed in June 2025. She also shared gems from her experience in ceremony with Claudia Cuentas (Aymara and Quechua) and Julián Jaramillo (Chachi) including the ancient wisdom they shared from their lineages with working with psilocybin.

We also heard from Lewis Condie of Public Health & Forensic Science of recent successes refining inoculation, growth, fruiting, and harvest and preservation techniques for a number of endemic psilocybe species. This is seminal work required to increase our understanding of Aotearoa's own indigenous taonga.

He mihi to the Bioeconomy Science Institute for their continued provision of cultivation facilities, and the expertise of mycologist Dr Bevan Weir.

On behalf of the Mangaroa whānau, we’re extremely grateful for everyone who came out to join us at the Harvest Festival over the weekend.

We had over 1200 people come through the gate - with sold out garden & permaculture tours, and hundreds of sausages, pulled lamb buns, hāngi and coffees enjoyed by many.

Big thanks to all who contributed to what was a magical experience of Kai & community 🙌🏽

Here’s a few snaps from @danescottcreative

More to come soon...

Dear friends,
As many of you know, Photography is one of the languages I love the most: a space for me to connect with others, to be creative, to supports others mahi (work).
Throughout the years I've been offering photography services and working with different community organisations, festivals, community events, musicians, etc.

And now I'm aiming to get back to it, to put more energy on to it as a way to support myself, my family, and my other passion that is @contemporanea.nz , the online platform I created 2 years ago to bring unique jewellery handcrafted by female artists worldwide.

So if you are looking for a photographer for your next project or event, for music gigs, community events, or if you are looking for head-shots, press photos, or you are hapu/ pregnant and would like to have some photos done or some family photos, get in touch!
I'll be honoured and so happy to be that person who captures those moments of connection.

Post Splore, the last week has been filled with memories. My social feeds have been awash with beautiful photos and stories from a festival that will now live on as a legacy. As we land back in the “real” world, the afterglow of an epic weekend is still very much with us.

It has been a privilege to work with the incredible Splore crew and a leadership team, @te.kotuku and @fredinski_ who truly lead from the heart. From the Rum Shack in 2010, curated by me and my then partner, to Wendy’s Wellness over the last eight years, my journey with Splore has been deeply transformational. Having the opportunity to attend so many gatherings and also work behind the scenes has been incredibly special.

I have loved the freedom to shape Wendy’s Wellness into a space that complemented the rest of the festival, somewhere people could drop in, reconnect, and take a moment to nourish themselves. Of course none of it happens without an amazing team. Heart led, supportive, and always ready to bring their magic. Thank you to all the facilitators, practitioners, musicians, and performers who have shared their gifts in both Wendy’s Wellness and After Dark over the years. Your energy, presence, and generosity have been the heartbeat of the space.

Special thanks to my darling husband @brett.crockett Brett Crockett for your continued love, support and incredible visuals. To @dizziepixiedesigns @amanda.jane.spa @tha_rustla , thank you for being an integral part of the journey. And an extra big thank you to my wonderful assistant @barclaytasha .Your patience, care, and steady support this year have meant so much.

Thank you to everyone who brought their heart, their energy, and their presence. The Wendy’s Wellness /Splore family continues well beyond the festival, and I am so excited for what’s next❤️

Yeah woo! We finally saved up enough swear jar money to buy some of these bad boys. Can't wait to pop one in my 2008 Honda Civic and give it a spin!

Flick us a message if you'd like us to send you one. We're going to try set up online ordering through bandcamp but we're pretty shit at tech so no promises!

Otherwise you can buy one from us in person if you're at one of our shows!:
