Hi all 💜

After some much thought, I’ve decided I’ll be taking a much needed break from social media.

I’m a firm believer that sometimes the answer is to not add more to our plate but in fact to take something off. We don’t need more, more, more, but perhaps less. Simplicity. Honestly, I’ve been craving a social media break for sometime now, and I’m not a hundred percent certain it serves me in this season.

You’re probably thinking: “But C.C., you’re an author! You need to promote your books.” That is true. Yet, I’m desperately craving presence. Perhaps becoming a mother has made me itch for it as my daughter grows bigger with each day. Instagram is not reality. Time is passing by, and I can hear creativity’s song calling me back. Right now, I’m writing my favorite adventure thus far with my snarky archeologist and morally gray pirate captain, and I’m determined to give this story the time it deserves. You can actually check them out by swiping left and getting a glimpse at the wonderful art by @allexandracurte (I’m sitting on 10 more art pieces for this story, so buckle up!).

Now, I’m not giving up on this space completely; I’ll pop in here or there to remind you of all of my upcoming events. Just as a reminder, my next one is on Halloween with @the.bookheart festival at Distro Beer Hub—my last author event of the year. Second, I’m super excited to be celebrating @carterpughwrites for her trilogy’s much anticipated finale, Death Knell, at the very special bookstore @fredandjunes on December 20th. You won’t want to miss it!

Lastly, dear readers, if you’d like to stay up to date on my writing and life, I’m picking back up my newsletter on a monthly basis. Check my bio for the appropriate link. Of course, I’ll miss chatting with authors, so author friends, if you see this, feel free to DM and let’s text offline. I love a good chat and I’ve never met a voice memo I didn’t like (ha).

Until then, happy reading,
C.C. Tyler

The BookPalooza trip isn’t over until I’ve shown you the books. 📚😂

Grab a seat and let’s go through what came home with me. I loved getting to browse, meet authors, and spend the day there with my family. Now comes deciding what I’m going to read first.

What would you pick?

That was one HECK of a way to celebrate a Tropical Storm hitting North Carolina! 🤯

When I tell y’all the community showed up for BOOKPALOOZA, I’m talking a line wrapped around the Truist Field in Charlotte twice and authors and vendors reporting their highest sales on record!

This was my first event as an official Creator and I’m so grateful to the @charlottebookpalooza community for the opportunity.

Despite the storm and last minute adjustments, it was so amazing seeing so many people show up in support of @booksonthehousenc - a nonprofit dedicated to providing access to books for the underprivileged in the NC community. Seeing so many people share their love of books and support was so special.

Thank you to all the vendors, authors, readers, sponsors, volunteers, fellow creators, and most importantly to Kat and Jesse for trusting me to be a small part of this amazing event.

Q: What is the the first book you remember reading that really resonated with you?!

Book events seriously never get old. 🩷

I’m not going to lie I knew this festival was going to be big but I never thought it was going to be this HUGE. Lines wrapped around the stadium…twice.

So many people came out (even with the rain). Authors had some of their highest sales to date (some even sold out). The best part though was families were having a great time in a bookish space.

So much money was raised for the efforts of @booksonthehousenc These funds will go to providing free books to under privileged communities. Because everyone deserves a good book.

My content creator sisters were absolutely joyful and I only wish we could have spent more time together. This was my first event being a creator and I definitely learned A LOT. Thank you again @charlottebookpalooza for trusting me to be apart of your festival.

💬Q: if you had to pick one book to be in every home library what would it be? Can be an adult or children’s book.
