The best part of this experience was the part I couldn’t film. 🤍 I had such a beautiful day at Cascada — movement, mineral water, a smoothie, time to read, and actual space to slow down. But the Sanctuary downstairs was something else. No phones. Silence encouraged. Mineral water, hot tub, cold plunge, and the salt air lounge that ended up being my favorite part of the entire experience. And honestly, not being able to capture it made me appreciate it even more. Sometimes wellness isn’t about doing more. Sometimes it’s giving yourself permission to completely unplug. Cascada, you were lovely. BEHIND THE SCENES of “Beneath the Surface.” Words can’t describe how much joy even putting up this show gave me. The kind words were flowing, everyone worked effortlessly together, and this was the least stressed I have ever been before a show. It took a small army to put this together and I’ll be forever grateful to each one of you. Stay at @cascadapdx and you will feel every bit taken care of. I was lucky enough to have the biggest support system for the show- but kindness and pure joy radiate throughout this building.

Beneath the Surface Over the past decade, my work has become less about mastering individual fiber techniques and more about discovering the conversations that happen between them. Dyeing, felting, blending, binding, weaving, and stitching no longer exist as separate processes—they overlap, merge, and evolve together, much like memory itself. The works in Beneath the Surface are rooted in deep, earthy color and unexpected texture. They are shaped by landscapes I’ve wandered, music that has filled my studio, and the people whose stories have quietly woven themselves into my own. These influences are rarely visible in obvious ways, yet they live within every layer. What appears on the surface is only the final expression of a much longer process. This exhibition is an invitation to slow down—to look beyond the immediate texture and discover the quiet histories, connections, and transformations held within each piece. One of the new fiber techniques I have been practicing over the past 4 months is wet felting. It’s a beautiful craft that you absolutely can NOT rush. Wanna know how I know? 😵‍💫🤣 One of the main reasons I am so excited to show my work at @cascadapdx is because of all the ways I tried to expand my knowledge of this craft. I didn’t start out naturally being good at wet felting. But through trial and error, I have prevailed! Come see! We’re thrilled to share that @cascada.bend broke ground this week in the heart of Bend — congratulations to Cascada and the entire project team! Scroll for a tour. A celebration of Central Oregon’s volcanic high desert, Cascada Bend is a new 130,000-square-foot thermal spa and 68-room hotel where the guest experience progresses through candlelit, cave-like spaces to a series of rooftop pools and a sauna overlooking the desert horizon. Construction has officially begun on @cascada.bend, and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with @solterraliving, @hackerarchitects and the entire project team. Tuesday, we ceremonially marked the beginning of construction on this remarkable wellness destination. As Lewis continues to grow our presence in Central Oregon, we're especially honored to be breaking ground on yet another project in downtown Bend and to strengthen our commitment to serving this vibrant and growing community. The 130,000-square-foot project will feature a 68-room boutique hotel, a thermal spa, rooftop pools and saunas with sweeping views of the cascades, creating a one-of-a-kind experience tailored to the high desert and outdoor recreation recovery. Yesterday we celebrated breaking ground on our second CASCADA in Bend. Next month marks 12 years I’ve been at SolTerra working with Brian, and about decade with Marc. Looking back, it’s hard to believe how much life we’ve shared. The challenges have been many. There were seasons when it felt like everything was working against us. We invested years into projects that fell short of our hopes because of circumstances no one could have predicted, like the global pandemic. The work has been hard, complicated, and at times exhausting. More than once, we’ve laughed and said, “There are easier ways to make money.” But this has never been about taking the easy path. We’ve believed in our vision, so we kept building. Somewhere along the way, it felt like family. I’ve had the privilege of traveling the world with these guys, celebrating milestones together, spending holidays with their families, standing beside Marc at Brian and Kavita’s wedding, and watching their families grow. Those relationships have become one of the greatest gifts this journey has given me. People often celebrate the finished building. What they don’t always see are the years of perseverance, belief, difficult conversations, setbacks, and quiet determination that make those moments possible. Standing together yesterday, looking at what CASCADA is becoming, I felt incredibly grateful. The funny part is... after 12 years and 14 projects, it doesn’t feel like we’re nearing the finish line.  It feels like we’re just getting started. The momentum behind the CASCADA brand is something we’ve been work hard at for years. Seeing that vision begin to take shape is incredibly rewarding, but what I’m most thankful for is who I’ve had the opportunity to help build that with. Here’s to the next chapter.
