🗻 Ben Lomond 📍Queenstown, New Zealand 🇳🇿

This hike will always have a place in my heart- some of the best views I’ve ever seen. Queenstown itself is stunning, but the remarkables were extraordinary! A 360 degree from the peak that looked completely different from every angle- swipe to the video at the end to see the peak view 😍

We didn’t have loads of time so got the gondola up to Bob’s Peak and started from there. Up and down from here was only 12km, but a challenging hike with 1066m ascent! It was very hot and exposed, so we did it quite slowly- our total moving time was just under 4 hours. Give yourself plenty more time for some nice scenic stops! You can start from the base if you want an even more challenging route and have enough time.

After hiking back down we caught a lovely sunset and had a glass of wine at the bar in the Skyline Gondala Base before getting the Gondola back down to Queenstown.

Throwback to one of my favourite hikes so far in the Lake District 🥾🗻

The Lakes was the place that first really made me fall in love with hiking. Being classic type A, as soon as I heard about the Wainwrights I knew I wanted to ‘bag’ them all. But this challenge has brought me so many incredible days out in nature, including this one. Nothing is more rewarding (or healing) than a long day on the fells, with views like this.

This hike is the Newlands horseshoe.
- 20km
- 1,240m ascent

It includes 6 Wainwrights:
🗻 Catbells
🗻 Maiden Moor
🗻 High Spy
🗻 Dale Head
🗻 Hindscarth
🗻 Robinson

A long, great day out- would highly recommend a clear day to make the most of the views 😍

Throwback to February when we hiked around Comino Island 🇲🇹

I was drawn to Malta as I love a coastline cliff edge hike and once I found out about Comino, this hike became the thing I was looking forward to the most.

You can walk the whole island in 10km/ 350m ascent and so it’s the perfect day trip. We took a cheap boat trip across from Malta in the morning and were careful with our time to ensure we didn’t miss the last boat back. We had plenty of time to do the walk with lots of scenic stops along the way and time to take a dip in the beautiful Blue Lagoon.

Although the boat across and the Blue Lagoon area were busy, I don’t think many people hike around the island and so the rest of the walking path was really quiet. We hardly saw anyone until we hit Blue Lagoon near the end of our walk!

The walk was very exposed, with gorgeous views. The path was variable, so good hiking boots were required.

A flexible itinerary was required as on our first attempt to visit the island the boats were cancelled on the day because the waves were too big for them to dock. Luckily we were able to shuffle plans around and had a successful visit the next day.

This trip was the highlight of our Malta trip and would highly recommend a trip to Comino for anyone visiting 🇲🇹

👋 Made this account so I can keep a record of all my walks, short and long, without clogging up my personal account.

Walking/Hiking is one of my favourite things to do- I love short strolls, long hikes, coastal walks with sea dips and mountain hikes. Being outdoors is my happy place.

I’ll share lots of different walks, UK and abroad. You will see lots of the Wales Coast Path and Wainwrights in the Lake District as I’m currently trying to complete these!

We did this walk as a there and back, but you could easily do it one way using public transport. The buses don’t run regularly, so check times before.

Great walks with great views. Nice one if you’re looking for something gentle and not too long. There are cafes, pubs, toilets and parking in Saundersfoot, Wisemans Bridge and Amroth.

Would highly recommend the @hwyloutdoorsauna in Saundersfoot after your walk! We booked 50 minutes and fit in two dips into the sea in that time.

Please share any of your favourite walks with me as I’m always looking for recommendations.
