Meet your roaster!

Hi, I’m Kaitlyn and I’m the roaster, owner, bookkeeper, marketer, salesperson, and everything else here at Whoa Bessie Coffee (except the cheap labor, iykyk)! I realized I’ve never actually introduced myself, probably due to the fact that I’m also the social media manager.

I grew up in Colorado and went to CU Boulder, where I discovered my love for coffee and need for caffeine. I bopped around a bit after college and spent some time traveling in my camper van, Bessie. And yep, this is where Whoa Bessie came from!

I moved to Bozeman four years ago for grad school at MSU (go cats!) and have been here ever since. I worked in the healthcare software space for many years, but once I settled down in Bozeman I started looking for a way to pivot into work I was more excited about and that would allow me to get more involved in the wonderful community here. I had taken up coffee roasting as a hobby, then one thing led to another and Whoa Bessie was born!

We’re closing up shop for a couple of weeks! The hard part about running a small business solo (plus one unpaid intern) is that it doesn’t run if you’re not there. We booked a big summer trip before Whoa Bessie was even a twinkle in my eye and can’t wait to spend a couple of weeks adventuring with @morawayadventures!

Tonight is our last market until 8/18 so make sure to stop by and stock up! Online ordering will be available through Wednesday evening. Can’t wait to hit the ground running when we get back! #HAGS

Can’t go wrong with a visit to @bozemanfarmersmarket

One of my favorite changes in Bozeman over the last few years is seeing these summer farmers’ markets move from the Bogert Pavilion to Lindley Park.

I always enjoyed the Bogert markets.

But if I may, the Lindley markets are just a little more special. Warmer.

The early evening light is sensational this time of year.

Walking through the hallway of trees and vendors with lively chatter, shade, and friendly faces is the most exceptional summer feeling.

And I can’t get enough of it.

The summer is off to a hot start! Big races, big water, and a ton of friends along the way. It’s only July, but the adventures will just keep coming. Bighorn100 followed by Cataract Canyon, couldn’t ask for a better start. Plus Karina’s biggest fish on the fly to date, perfect way to spend the long evenings.
