I’m looking forward to joining forces with @electriccalavera for the second year in a row for his annual raucous art circus known as UFO’s Over Lubbock! You’ll find all kinds of cool artists showing their wares. Come say hi First Friday art enthusiasts! Something for everyone! Guaranteed! While supplies last…6-9pm! One night only!

Art shown:
Jeff F. Wheeler, “just This Side of Magdalena no. 52,” acrylic, charcoal, and collage on paper, 16” x 20”, today

Jeff F. Wheeler, “On The Plains (after Remington),” acrylic and charcoal on paper, 16” x 20,” this week

And as for the rest of these incredibly talented artists, you’ll have to come see what I bring! Come see! You’ll be glad you did.

Great field trip this morning to the downtown Lubbock Arts District for a tour of CASP (the Charles Adams Studio Project) with Programs and Development Coordinator @rachel_s_blackwell who gave us a look at the studio-gallery and live/work spaces designed by our Dean, @deanttuhcoa. A big thanks to Rachel and CASP Director @chadplunket for welcoming us. The ARCH 2503 2nd Year Design Studio is working on a proposal for an academy of visual arts, serving high school age students, to be located in the Arts District. The studio focus is on architecture as the organization of relationships through space, using the Arts District and Lubbock's First Friday Art Trail as a framework to think about sequence, framing, transformation & event, and cycles of occupation.
