We’re returning to @poppybookssf! ✨🌙

I’m joined by the wonderful @cassbeewrites to talk all things In The Country I Love (but maybe we can also get Cass to tell us more about their upcoming sequel, Icarus Fell 👀)!

I love Poppy Books so much 🥹. My sister and I try to take a trip at least every Eid to go book-shopping there because its one of the cutest bookstores in Utah with a very diverse catalog and I’m so very grateful to have the chance to have a book event here after roaming around as a bright-eyed customer for a few years.

This event is free AND it takes place on a Saturday (best time to spend your Saturday night is with books I think 😌). You can RSVP with the link in my bio 💜 HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

My book recommendation for today’s #onewordtitleTuesday is Vesuvius by @cassbeewrites, Cass Biehn. This historical/adventure/fantasy story follows Felix, a clever thief who is a bit of a vagabond moving from town to town as he attempts to survive from a past he can’t remember. Until the day he steals a divine artifact from Pompeii, possibly instigating an earthquake. In an attempt to survive, Felix enters a temple and discovers Loren, a temple attendant who has visions of a very destructive future. Now the boys’ fates are intertwined and they have to figure out how to save the city and themselves as Pompeii turns to ash and rubble.

💙 Cover Reveal 💙

The sequel to "Vesuvius" by @cassbeewrites finally has a cover! The cover of "Icarus Falls" was done by @cherriielle and it is stunning. I'm looking forward to continuing Felix and Loren's story soon!

‼️ Available June 8th, 2026! Preorders open!

💙 Back of Book:
In this riveting companion to Vesuvius, two boys move to Rome after the fall of Pompeii but come face-to-face with ghosts of the past that threaten to destroy the life they’ve been working to build.

This exclusive First Edition hardcover features a luminous foiled jacket, stunning night and day illustrated endpapers, and hidden case art.

Struggling with survivor’s guilt after failing to prevent the devastating eruption at Pompeii, Loren shuts out his oracle dreams to focus on proving he can do tangible good for Rome as a senator’s assistant. But the sudden arrival of an old friend throws Loren into a vision where he receives a deadly ultimatum from a ghost he thought he'd put to rest.

Felix, a descendent of the god Mercury, has renounced his thieving past to investigate missing memories from his childhood that would allow him to unlock his divine powers. His curiosity leads him to Mercury's temple, where he discovers a figure from his past who should be dead. They might be the key to finally granting Felix his memories back, if only Felix can prove himself worthy.

With the completion of the new Colosseum looming and no psychopomp in Rome to handle the deaths it promises to bring, the veil between the spirit world and the living threatens to burst. As the walls of the arena close in, Felix and Loren must confront their trauma before the veil is torn—even if saving each other will rip them apart.

Pack your sword and chariot; you can expect more of the action, magic, and angst that you loved in Vesuvius! Perfect for fans of the meddling gods of Percy Jackson, the tragic romance of Hadestown, and the political drama of C.S. Pacat’s bestselling Dark Rise series.

💙 Thank you @cassbeewrites for having me on your street team!
