Congratulations to Cassidy Fleger, outgoing president of @texaswvc, for being chosen as this year's recipient of the Bobby Drew Abercrombie and Matthew Emmitt Abercrombie Memorial Endowed Scholarship! 🏐

This scholarship is awarded to Sport Club athletes who hold leadership positions within their club. Over four years of playing club volleyball and two years as club president, Cassidy met the demands of leading two teams by developing skills in communication and problem-solving, all the while balancing her academic and extracurricular responsibilities.

Learn more about Cassidy and her journey with @texaswvc in our latest blog post at the link in bio. 🔗 A volleyball player wearing a burnt orange jersey with the number 1 prepares to hit a volleyball overhead. dear @texaswvc,

i came into college with a very broken relationship with volleyball. no matter how many club switches, private lessons, or position changes i made, i never felt like i truly belonged or deserved playing time.

despite this, i still found myself endlessly scrolling through volleyball clips on instagram and missing the joy that the sport used to give me. i ended up stumbling across the TWVC instagram page, figured i'd at least go to open gym and see how i felt about it (after i accidentally showed up to men's open gym the day before and got respectfully kicked out😃). i instantly felt connected to the girls there, and loved the competitive yet supportive atmosphere. i tried out (as a setter incase you didn't know) and never looked back.

somehow, this club trusted me enough to serve in a vice president position, and i'm so grateful i have been able to help new players feel welcomed into the program and give volleyball a second chance- just like our last officers did when i was just a wide-eyed freshman.

thank you TWVC for an incredible four years. this club has brought me some of my favorite college memories, my closest friendships, and healed my relationship with volleyball.

#6 out!!🔥🔥

p.s. if yall know of any adult leagues in the kyle/austin area please hmu
