🌕 THE HUNTER'S MOON

A Sony Alpha ambassador once told me I needed to learn image stacking, criticized me for making videos for views, and dismissed me as an amateur instead of a real artist.

The funny part is, I’ve posted photographs long before this one.

I simply refuse to believe that every image needs to be built around somebody else’s rules for what makes it valid.

No stacking. No tracking. No chasing a version of perfection that leaves no room for instinct.

Just the Hunter’s Moon suspended above a sea of violet, framed the way I wanted to see it.

I know the techniques. I see the value in them. But using every possible tool to force an image into technical perfection is not the only path to making something meaningful.

And choosing not to do that does not make the work less real.

The Moon isn’t centered.
The sky takes up more space than some people would allow.
The frame doesn’t beg for approval.

That’s the point.

Not every photograph needs to be engineered into submission.

Some images are allowed to breathe.
Some compositions are allowed to feel personal.
Some art is allowed to exist without asking permission from people who confuse technical control with vision.

I’ve seen artists use every edge at their disposal and still create something empty.

And I’ve seen a single honest frame say more than all of it.

I’ll take honesty over perfection every time. 🌌

This is an exercise in lost and found edges and these tide pools, the colors in the rocks and water were like turquoise gemstones. They were so fun to explore and paint.

The water is reflecting the sky above, but you can still see into the shallow water pools sitting on these flat faceted rocks.

This day was about observation and exploration. 🙌💕
