Two weeks in Salvador rounded out our unforgettable month in Brasil. We learned about the Candomblé religion, ate acarajé, listened to so much samba, got to deeply appreciate Salvador’s Black history, and watched the sun set on the water every night.

Now we’re starting our month traveling through Colombia. It took us a minute to get into the groove here, so more updates will be coming soon:) Absolutely love it here already🇨🇴

We’re still taking this one in.

In the weeks leading up to the opening of the Obama Presidential Center, we had the chance to reconnect with partners and collaborators, celebrate the work that brought this museum to life, and watch visitors engage with the stories inside it for the very first time. Receiving an in-person thank you from President and Mrs. Obama made the moment even more meaningful.

We’re honored to have contributed to a project that will live on as a space for storytelling, reflection, and community. 🥂

Since Fall 2022, our team has had the honor of partnering with the Obama Presidential Center and other collaborators to develop and produce several films in the museum, shape the look of original interviews, and coordinate productions across the country.

We're proud to be one of only two Chicago-based production companies that contributed to this historic project. After years of work, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see early visitors experience these stories firsthand, and we can’t wait for the world to take it all in.

If you’ve been through it, you know exactly what he means.

A couple of weeks ago, our team at @digife stood on stage holding a Chicago/Midwest Emmy for You Don’t Know Chi, a series we produced with @6figga_dilla, Chicago’s historian and storyteller, who’s made it his mission to uncover the narratives hidden beneath this city’s surface.

A small crew, doing it our way, with our own people, and that made all the difference.

We did it!!

Our team at Digifé just won its first @chi_natas Chicago/Midwest Emmy® Award for our series “You Don’t Know CHI.”
Outstanding Achievement for Magazine Program – Single Program/Series.

No grant.
No studio.
No network.
No outside funding.

Just belief.
Belief in the story, the mission, and the craft.

We poured our savings, time, and heart into this project because we knew it mattered, and now that belief has brought home our first Emmy.

This one’s for every independent storyteller proving you don’t need permission to create something meaningful.
