Taking the time to marinate a protein or a vegetable over night does really make a difference 🍚

I marinated a pork loin overnight in @kikkomanusa original #teriyaki marinade. When I was ready to cook it- I got 2 pans going- one for the white rice I was making & one to cook the pork. After searing the marinated pork loin- I let it cook in the sauce it had marinated in for a bit until it was fully cooked to temperature. Then I used the remaining pan sauce to cook my green beans.

Plating was simple & easy. I plated my #rice first as I love for that to soak up any of the sauce on the plate. Placed my green beans on top of the rice. Finally cut my #porkloin that had been resting into slices. Laid them on the plate. Finally- finished everything off with a fantastic pour of my pan sauce.

Delicious lunch.

𝒮𝓊𝓂𝓂𝑒𝓇 𝓈𝒶𝓁𝒶𝒹𝓈 have been my go-to this year 🥗 I have been making sure to throughly wash all the lettuce I use. I had marinated a pork chop in a ginger dressing which paired perfectly with peach 🍑 & hand picked blueberries 🫐 The perfect addition was the @cabotcreamery seriously sharp cheddar 🧀

Welcome! My name is Cathrine & I’ve been making my way back into cooking. I grew up with a family that loved to cook. I love going to restaurants to try new meals or tried & true favorites. I stepped away from the kitchen for a bit but I’m making my way back in.

Follow along as I cook family recipes, recipes I find through friends, & just things that I hope will turn out as a tasty meal. Look forward to cooking with you! ~𝒞𝒶𝓉𝒽𝓇𝒾𝓃𝑒

May this be a reminder after a long and challenging week that you are unstoppable. Your world may be full of anger and hate right now, but your existence and your perseverance is your greatest form of protest. Little Cathrine is getting a lot of love recently ✨

When you’re forced to grow up way too fast by the whole world you can forget about the magic of getting a new box of crayons with a fantastic coloring book where you can make your own little space for a minute.

This picture maybe took me 10 minutes to color. I didn’t rush. I took the time to actually pick the colors I wanted to use & I just colored while I sipped my morning tea.

There is nothing wrong with spending time with yourself to start your day. I think I’m going to start doing this more. 🖍️❤️✨

𝓒𝓮𝓵𝓮𝓫𝓻𝓪𝓽𝓮 𝓰𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓽𝓲𝓶𝓮𝓼, 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕠𝕟 (𝐿𝑒𝓉’𝓈 𝒸𝑒𝓁𝑒𝒷𝓇𝒶𝓉𝑒) 🎉🎊🥳

I truly believe that follower count doesn’t matter unless you’re actually getting followers your content is connecting with & that’s why they hit that follow button.

My goal was to be able to make content that connected & resonated with enough people over the summer that I could organically hit 2,000 followers.

I accomplished that goal this week! Not just that- I have worked a lot on my video editing, writing & rewriting my captions that I hope you read, & working on sharing honest content that I’m proud to make for myself & any partnerships that I’ve been able to collaborate with.

I have A LOT more fun content to come that I hope can brighten your day, remind you to spend time with people in your life, eat some really good food, & remember you can have fun even in the little moments 🎉✨💖 #cathrinewith1e
