I took these photos on a walk around the headland from Noss Mayo, a route I go back to whenever I need a bit of breathing space and this particular day stands out in my memory for it skies. The weather was changing constantly. One minute the sky was heavy and dramatic, the next it opened into clear Winter light that made the whole coastline feel lifted. There is something about watching those shifts in real time that pulls you out of your own head and back into the wider landscape. It is simple but it works. This is the same walk that eventually led me to paint Skies over Wembury. Being outside on days like this reminds me why I paint these places in the first place. It is not just about the view. It is the sense of clarity that comes from moving through a landscape and noticing what is actually in front of you. I am putting together a walking guide for this route so that you can follow the same path if you want to - keep your eyes peeled. What landscape or regular route helps you reset when you need it? ‘Skies Over Wembury’ is available @whitesailsgallery @southwestcoastpath @coastmaguk @visitsouthdevon @nationaltrustsouthwest @nationaltrust #southdevon #wembury #nossmayo #devoncoast #southwestcoastpath #coastalphotography #coastallandscape #landscapeartist #originalartwork #coastalwalks #devonartist #artinspiration #natureconnection #artcollectorsuk #whitesailsgallery
