POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
For rent: the whole sixth floor of a warehouse filed with the city on October 10, 1898 and finished the following May, built for Edward E. Edwards to Franklin Baylies's plans at the northeast corner of Prince and West Broadway. It went up six stories. The seventh arrived in 1908, plain brick, no ornament, and you can still pick out the seam from the sidewalk.

Inside is 2,200 square feet in one run. The living and dining room is over thirty-six feet long, with heavy timber posts and beams left where the warehouse framing put them, wide plank floors, and sixteen windows turned south and west. A keyed elevator opens into a private foyer. The kitchen is stainless steel with a stone-topped island, and one of the two bedrooms is lined floor to ceiling with bookshelves. Look south and West Broadway runs straight down to One World Trade Center. Available furnished from September 1, minimum one year.

Today marks two years without my little brother, Oliver and I can’t seem to find the right words to describe the devastation of this loss to me and my family… hence this post is a bit fragmented but its what is in my heart.

The first photo above is when our family was complete. I call it the golden era for us Freiberg’s. We will never be the same. We love each other, have found laughter again but there is a hole that cannot be filled. I had a session with my therapist this morning and she asked me what I would say to him if I could see him one more time. First is that I miss him dearly. Then I would tell him about Bowie and Jaxon, because that is who he would want to hear about. He was such a devoted and loving Uncle and if he could see them now he would light up with joy and love and pride. Our last full day with him was spent in a pool where he was playing with the kids for hours. I still remember a teary eyed Jaxon asking on that fateful day when Oliver passed “but who will throw me in the pool”. 233Still breaks my heart to think of those words.

Oliver died from heart failure associated with HCM. Today NYU Langone Health announced the Oliver Emmett Freiberg Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Research Fund. A project that was spearheaded by his parents @cathy.taub and @lowellfreiberg “to fuel research that may one day help spare other families this kind of heartbreak.”

If you feel called there is a link in my bio to give and to learn more about the fund. Sending out love. I miss you bud.

Some measure success in awards.
Others measure it in sales.

But perhaps the greatest measure is still loving what you do.
