We celebrated our 40th harvest this season! We’ll be pressing our final macerating lot tomorrow, and are just loving the wines so far. Here’s a look back at the season!

Cathy Corison is an absolute legend when it comes to Napa wine. First female owner/winemaker in the valley and she has absolutely perfected the art of Cabernet Sauvignon! Her first vintage of Corison in 1987 got ranked in Wine Spectators Top 100 of the Year and sold for just $18. We were lucky enough to sample her 1999 Cab and it was stunning with tobacco, mushroom, white balsamic jumping out of the glass, cherry gastrique and red currants rich across the palate, and then developed into an all-out war between roses and rocks in the best way 😍
This estate vineyard is over 50 years old, and while many in the industry would rip up the vines to plant more vigorous selections. Cathy has no plans of doing that in her lifetime! Only yielding 1 ton per acre in a good year (only 1/4 of a ton per acre this year tragically), with tiny berries, and only 1-2 clusters per shoot, she will never compromise quality for quantity.
According to Cathy, every vintage demands a slightly different approach, but the basics are always the same: start with excellent grapes, then don’t screw it up! Favorite quote of the day: “fashion comes and fashion goes, girl just wants to make wine! All I care about is if I can sell it this year, then I can make it again next year.”

9/9/26 - Cobalt Team Luncheon at home. Treated Danna and her team to a nice midweek luncheon. Niçoise Salad, Tarragon Chicken with almonds and cranberries on croissants, Watermelon-Feta-Orzo on the side, and a Grapefruit Pistachio Olive Oil Cake as well as some pretty good wines.

🍷 We’re pouring @cathycorison with @coravin. Cathy Corison was Napa’s first woman winemaker-proprietor. 🍇 When she founded Corison Winery in 1987, Cathy became the first woman to both make the wine and own her Napa Valley winery—a pretty extraordinary distinction in an industry dominated by men at the time. #pourastory #womeninwine
