“I was searching for peace
and instead
I found
a stick of dynamite
that I would let you light
even though
it would set me on fire.”

This @catrinahiggs show, “An Uncontrolled Fire,” is a journey through heartbreak and cancer and loss into finding oneself and flourishing. It’s been really moving to hear her talk about what she’s been through in the last twelve months that led to this body of work. If the six pieces she’s poured her grief and rage and frustration into don’t sell, she’s going to throw them in a dumpster, set them on fire, and walk away from the ashes, and that is so incredibly badass and quintessentially her. It is such an unbelievable privilege to have this absolute powerhouse of an artist as a friend. Catrina, you’re pretty much who I want to be when I grow up. ✨

TOMORROW IS THE DAY Y’ALL!

Damn, I’ve been planning this lil baby for months and it’s finally here. It’s been 20 years since I first started booking bands to raise money for causes. This time it’s for my own nonprofit @period.yall !! I think lil Skylar would be proud.

So come out, listen to some good music, meet some cool artists, bid on some insane items including stuff from @avatarmetal and @witchclubsatan (thanks @finmuch ), bring some period products, celebrate the new pantry, AND shop our limited edition merch!

Can’t make it? Share this post and you can still bid on some of the items!

See y’all soon!!

If you see me and aurora at an art show know she has snacks in her lil purse and will ask the artist “what’s that, why did you do that, what does that mean”

Thankyou both @redallaboutit & @catrinahiggs for your mini art talks with Aurora! And @alchemycollectivee for hosting such a goood show 💘
