A glorious splash of colour with the Submerge Phillip Island crew in Cowes! 💛🌊

They’re already getting into the Daffodil Day Cold Plunge spirit, decked out in their bright yellow caps for our sunrise dip. There were stories shared, plenty of laughs, lots of selfies (of course!) and breakfast together afterwards at Water Boy Cafe (yum!).

What a joyful way to start the day on Sunday — good people, open water and a beautiful sunrise over the bay.

Thanks Cat and the whole Submerge crew for making us feel so welcome. We loved joining you and look forward to returning the favour when you come to Seaford! 💛

A big thank you to Anneli, Becky and the wonderful team at Phillip Island Library in Cowes for hosting my latest author talk on The Next Wave.

And a very special shoutout to Andrea, Lidia and Lisa, who joined me to share their reflections on what it’s like to have your story captured — and immortalised — in a book. 💙

It was such a rich and heartwarming morning, made even more special by the people who came up afterwards to share how much the stories and words had resonated with and inspired them.

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of these conversations. For me, they’re about so much more than a book. They’re an opportunity to share stories, bring people together, build connection and community, and celebrate our shared love of the open waters.

Thank you, Phillip Island, for such a warm welcome. And thank you to Deb and Kahlene for sharing your photos and videos too. And to Brian, Mary and Damo for joining us from Seaford!

Saturday 15 August 2026 Cowes -

John and I were proud to represent our Kilcunda West swim community at Fiona Basile’s author talk in Cowes, celebrating the launch of her beautiful new book, “The Next Wave”.

Listening to Fiona speak about The Next Wave was inspiring.

Then hearing some of the swimmers - Andrea, Lidia & Lisa tell their own stories in person brought the pages to life. You could hear the emotion, the courage, and the deep connection each person has with the water.❤️

It was wonderful to see the Seaford Swimming community make the journey to Phillip Island, along with the Submerge Phillip Island group and the Millowl Sea Dragons.

We may all have our own unique story, but the ocean has a remarkable way of bringing us together.

Afterwards, John and I finished the morning with a coffee at Cottesloe cafe, reflecting on a truly beautiful day filled with connection, community, and gratitude.🙏❤️🌊☕️

Monday 10 August 2026 Cowes -

This morning I returned to Cowes Main Beach and caught up with the beautiful ladies from Submerge_ Phillip Island.

And especially Cat ❤️- one of my first guides into the world of cold water immersion and swimming, with so many fun memories from those early days.

Since then, I’ve wandered off and found my own way - different swims, different challenges, plenty of cold water and lessons.

So grateful for the people who are part of the journey - especially those who were there at the beginning.

And then, of course... off to Wellbeing Elements for another ice bath.

This is Andrea. She travels from Boronia, an outer eastern suburb of Melbourne, to swim with us in Seaford. She’s also gifted a number of our swimmers with the introduction of a special lake out her way. We have so much to gain when we share the joy of the water, together.
