Toronto Firecracker Comedy Cafe! Huge thanks to everyone who came out to kick off a brand new season of the Firecracker Comedy Café at our new home, SoCap @socapcomedy! To our ridiculously talented performers, our laughers (some of you really committed), our friends, our fabulous venue and everyone who helped make the night happen, WE LOVE YOU. An extra enormous amount of love to @afbs for supporting the Firecracker funny this year. We couldn’t do it without you! And can we talk about these photos?! Our brilliant photographer, @youssefabdelmalekyma , is a wizard with a camera and shows up for us time and time again. From the very beginning in fact! book a headshot session with him stat! NEXT SHOW: NOVEMBER 3! (Link in bio, tickets are going fast!!) You’re not gonna wanna miss it. Unless you don’t like laughing. In which case, please don’t come. It’s really not going to be your thing. See you at the monthly comedy Café- a great place to meet your fellow fire crackers every month, talk about projects and who knows – maybe meet your next collaborator. @youssefabdelmalekyma 📸

I pitched this idea of a zombie apocalypse from the perspective of a zombie almost a year and a half ago. Not because I wanted to but because I had to, and I hated it. Fortunately for me, everyone else loved it so I had to make it. And then I wrote it and I loved it too. (That pic is from the first ever draft.) And then I HAD to make it, but I was told no. But that didn’t stop me so I reached out to Chad, and quickly his passion for the project damn near outgrew mine. It was a lot different, there was a narrator, 3 extra characters and Phil had 3 jobs but it never lost the charm I gave it or at least aimed for, you know? Last weekend we wrapped filming and idk if it’s because I knew the script so well or because my crew and cast were awesome, but it was so seamless (probs a bit of both.) So thank you to my classmates for laughing and enjoying my script, thank you to @mark.brownell.90 for encouraging me, thank you to @macbeechy who taught me to enjoy writing in the first place and read quite a few drafts of it. Thank you @adventureswith.ash for helping me improve it. Thank you to @chadtailor for believing in me, the script and then loving it with the same passion I have for it, I quite literally would not have made it without you. Thank you to my crew for making set so smooth. And thank you to my very talented cast who absolutely killed it, every single one of them. BTS by my brother @kevinkkf BTS also by @rojintheri too ty very cool pics yall And then one pic I took cuz I felt like it and it’s my set so. #YBMT
