SO MUCH GOING ON!! whether you want halloween karaoke, chill crafting, dancing all night, dog walking in the morning, or a comedy show with vegan pasta, there’s an option for you!

tagged as many event hosts as instagram will allow, if you can’t find something just ask!

if an event doesn’t list a ticket/door price it is probably FREE! but always double check, i am only human and get things wrong!

PLEASE also double check that the event is still happening before you head out! weather often impacts events, and with midwestern autumn you can never be too sure.

it’s safe to assume that nightlife centered events will be 18+ or 21+, be sure to check that before heading out 💕

A walk through the fog at Prairie Oaks Metro Park, Darby Bend Lakes area. In addition to the multiple exposure image I shared yesterday afternoon, I also found these moments yesterday morning. This park is lovely in the fall!

We went for a walk, the kids and I, and somewhere along the way, I found myself looking up.🍂

The trees were putting on their autumn show, leaves catching the light, little glimpses of gold everywhere. Nothing extraordinary was happening. We were just walking, talking, being together.🤎

And I thought about how easy it is to spend our days looking ahead. Waiting for the weekend, the next season, the next milestone, or a little more breathing room in the middle of all the things that need our attention.

But life is happening here, too.

In the walks we almost don’t take. The conversations we have along the way. The changing leaves above us. The ordinary afternoons that, one day, we might wish we could step back into for just a little while longer.

Maybe happiness isn’t always something we need to find. Maybe sometimes it’s something we notice when we slow down long enough to see what’s already here.

A little reminder to look up, take the longer way home, and let yourself be right where your feet already are. 🤎🍁

Prairie Oaks on a misty autumn morning walk. I love this time of year when the fog rolls in deep over the Darby Watershed.

This multiple exposure blends everything that makes Prairie Oaks Darby Bend Lakes special: autumn leaves, misty mornings, tall trees, and rippling lake reflections.

I'll share some single exposure photos a bit later - I have plenty of those, too!
