A wonderful evening celebrating this year’s Mosaic Art Fund grant recipients at The Lowe Art Museum! 🎨

The @mosaicartfund is an amazing initiative supporting local artists and fostering creativity within our community. Established by @raycorralartist and @ccathers_art , the fund is administered through the @gablesfoundation and provides grants that help regional artists advance their careers across a wide range of disciplines and mediums.

A special thanks to our good friend and fellow FIU CasaCuba Leadership Council Chairman @georgecorton for the kind invitation and for bringing us all together. Inspiring to see the impact of this program, we encourage everyone to check it out! 👏

Thank you to everyone who made our in(ter)vals Trolley Tour such a meaningful and memorable experience for Coral Gables especially for my two little girls who enjoyed taking the trolley to visit different public art pieces hidden throughout the #CityBeautiful.

A special thank you to Catherine Cathers, Ana Pernas, and the incredible trolley team for their coordination and hospitality, as well as to all of the participating artists, galleries, and board members whose talent and support continue to elevate arts and culture in our City Beautiful.

And a sincere thank you to The Plaza Coral Gables for graciously hosting the closing reception.

We are grateful for your partnership and for helping bring art into our public spaces in such an engaging way. #CoralGables #ArtInPublicPlaces #PublicArt #Intervals #TrolleyTour #ArtsAndCulture #CoralGablesArt #SupportTheArts #CommunityEvent

🌸 Centennial Sculpture Unveiling 🌸

Today we proudly celebrated the unveiling of our Centennial Sculpture and the beautiful Planting Pollinators installation — a vibrant tribute to our city’s history, creativity, and commitment to the environment.

A heartfelt thank-you to our incredible city staff, our City Commission, the Coral Gables Garden Club, and the Coral Gables Library for making this event possible through their partnership and dedication.

Special gratitude to artist Xavier Cortada for bringing this meaningful work to life and inspiring our community through art, nature, and storytelling.

What a wonderful way to honor Coral Gables’ 100 years — together, rooted in beauty and growth. 🌿🦋💛

“Breathing is a practice of presence”

One of my favorite lines by @alexispauline in her book Undrowned

Spending endless hours in the water I’ve embodied that sense and of boundless time. The bliss of suspense, presence, and thresholds. There is love there, for the simplicity of utter awareness and how our breath can carry us. I surrender to these moments.

It was a joy to listen to @ingridschindall and Amanda Keeley of @exilebooks describe their passion for the printed page and books, for art and language in this captivating panel @booksandbooks. They are indeed sisters in Miami’s print culture, as Amanda of @exilebooks said when she introduced @ingridschindall. After recounting her training in printmaking at Maryland Institute College of Art, Ingrid shared how she returned to South Florida, wanting to create a community for artists, printmakers, and for creators of artists’ books—and of course for those of us who love the rich, tactile materiality of print culture in all its multiple variations. Eventually that led her to found the small but mighty @miamipapr, Miami Paper and Printing Museum in Little River. She described its various workshops and services for the novice and the experienced and the simply curious. Intricately constructed artists’ books @miamipapr had helped bring into this world were on display and passed around for us to experience. Including those by artists I have long admired, @prusacarol and @onajide. Key quotes from this panel: “A book is a performative object.” And in response to the increasing emphasis on the possibilities of merging tech with art, “We are creatives that have gotten where we are by making things with our hands.” The seductive lure of physically turning one page after another is timeless. And so is following one image and one word after another. A pleasure to exchange thoughts afterward with Tom Virgin of @extravirginpress and Catherine @ccathers_art
