Sunday’s Autumn Pop-Up Shopping Market @denbies_wine_estate was full of creativity, conversation and connection. 🍂 • 67 independent businesses, with a great footfall comparable to last year — thank you to everyone who joined us! Behind every brand is a person and a story. Arriving ready, welcoming customers and sharing what you create helps build trust, especially when someone is discovering you for the first time. Those connections last well beyond a sale on the day. In a world of AI, meeting the maker and experiencing their creativity in person feels more valuable than ever. Our chosen charity @mcrpathways - we look forward to hearing if any one signed up to mentor? Curated stickers and @craftisuk activity packs kept little visitors smiling, while our team shared what’s coming next at Denbies @guildfordpavilion & @thedrummondguildford For the first time in nine years, I left the team to run the event — with every confidence in them. Hearing them described as friendly, kind and supportive means so much. Thank you team 👏 So much love and work goes into these events before the doors even open. Thank you to everyone who recognises that, shares their story and grows with us. Walking out today of a @curatedbydapperandsuave was a first in nine years… and a moment I’m incredibly proud of. Our Autumn Pop-Up Shopping Market at @denbies_wine_estate is still in full swing until 4pm, with 60+ brilliant independent businesses across three rooms. I’ve handed the reins to my amazing Brand Ambassadors and Dan @aloftivisuals (behind the camera) That’s a big moment when you’ve put so much of yourself into building something. I leave with every faith in this team. They understand the heart of Curated by Dapper & Suave: showing up, sharing stories and making people feel welcome. Today, I’ve heard wonderful feedback from visitors who’ve been coming for years. People who have found favourite businesses, made friends and become part of this community — customers and stallholders alike. One conversation about finding comfort and companionship here after losing a loved one really stayed with me. Knowing someone can walk through our doors and feel surrounded by kindness means so much. These connections are why I do this. A table is where someone sets up; the stories, friendships & sense of belonging are what grow around it. So here I am, leaving the venue with a very full heart, proud of what we’ve built and grateful to the team helping shape what comes next. There’s more to come. She does an amazing job championing markets and stallholders, and I always value our quick calls to share ideas and talk things through. About Last night We brought some of our the exhibitors who could make it together to meet each other, explore the venue and start getting excited about :- NEW Festive Market at@guildfordpavilion - November! With name badges ready on arrival (apologies the font was too small) 🪪 Everyone could put faces to business names, make connections, ask questions & find out where they’ll be located. We toured the outdoor space for street food vendors , arrival area, Long Room, outdoor space and the upstairs Terrace/Boardroom and Outside Terrace It was also a lovely opportunity to meet Tilly, Sanjana and Anupama, our Brand Ambassadors, alongside Louise, who has now joined us. Thank you for welcoming everyone, handing out badges and chatting with our exhibitors. A big thank you to Lisa @guildfordpavilion for her time and support. There were introductions, fresh ideas and some lovely feedback about how much people valued getting together before the event. These connections can lead to collaborations, shared inspiration + better experience for our visitors. For me, getting to know the people behind the businesses matters. So does building a shared understanding of the preparation, professionalism and care that goes into making our markets special. We are one of the Nation’s Favourite Businesses for 2026 I’m incredibly proud to finally share that @curatedbydapperandsuave has been selected by @britainsmallbiz as one of the Nation’s Favourite Businesses for 2026 by @smallbizsatuk Following a nationwide search, we are one of just 100 small businesses from across the UK being recognised and celebrated as part of this year’s campaign. To receive national recognition for something I have built from the ground up means so much to me. When I started Curated in Dorking in 2017, I wanted to create something that was about far more than simply putting tables in a room and calling it a market. I wanted to create welcoming spaces where brilliant independent businesses could shine, tell their stories and connect with their customers. Great customer service, quality independent brands and storytelling have remained at the heart of everything we do. Curated • Kind • Connected. Those 3 words represent what we have become and the community that has grown around our events. This recognition belongs to the community. To our incredible independent businesses who trust us with their brands. To our team, who bring our events to life. To the wonderful venues that welcome us. + to every single person who has walked through the doors of one of our events, bought from an independent business, shared a post, told a friend or simply supported what we are trying to create... When things don’t quite go to plan …. Myself and Nick @ccmediauk earlier in the year spent the day at @denbies_wine_estate filming lots of content to showcase everything the estate has to offer. Of course, filming doesn’t always go smoothly—this video captures some of the moments that didn’t quite make the final cut! As a small business owner, I believe that making mistakes is part of the journey. What matters is how we respond to them: What can we learn? How can we improve? How can we turn a negative into a positive? Sometimes, the best thing you can do is laugh, try again and keep going. That sense of fun is also a huge part of our @curatedbydapperandsuave events. I love getting to know our independent businesses, chatting with customers, working alongside our brilliant team and genuinely enjoying the experience we create together. Our events are about much more than shopping. They’re about people, personalities, connections—& having plenty of fun along the way. So, here’s your reminder that it’s absolutely okay to make mistakes. Learn from them, embrace the unexpected and don’t forget to enjoy yourself! Meet Phoebe from @phat.cat.crochet Filmed by Nick from @ccmediauk at our Summer Market, Phoebe has been part of the Curated community since 2022—and has now joined us for an incredible 28 events! From @dorkinghalls and @gildingsbarns to @denbies_wine_estate Phoebe always brings so much colour, creativity and joy to our markets. Customers absolutely love her, and some arrive asking where Phoebe is before they have even started exploring! Her stall is filled with a fabulous selection of colourful crocheted creations, all handmade and inspired by her wonderful imagination including Greggs sausage rolls. You’ll often find Phoebe crocheting at her stall too, giving visitors the opportunity to watch her work, discover the skill behind each piece and hear the story of @phat.cat.crochet Phoebe is always smiling, happy and a genuine joy to have at our events—often accompanied by her other half, Clancy @clancygilroygray Our markets are about so much more than shopping. You may recognise Jakub @jakubdurian who has been part of our team at events including @syonparkestate and @denbies_wine_estate , helping to manage everything behind the scenes and keep our events running smoothly. Jakub has now decided to step away due to the travel involved, particularly getting to the other side of London, alongside moving into a new home and balancing his job commitments. It has been great working with Jakub, and we all wish you every happiness & success with everything ahead. At our Summer Market, Nick from @ccmediauk caught up with Jakub to ask what he enjoys most about our @curatedbydapperandsuave by events—and unsurprisingly, it all came down to the wonderful people he has met along the way. One of those people is the fabulous Sarah @sjs_fluffnstuff Sarah has been exhibiting with us since 2021 and has now taken part in an incredible 20 Curated events, joining us @dorkinghalls @gildingsbarns Bar plus @denbies_wine_estate @syonparkestate It really is all about the fluff! Sarah brings her fantastic handmade creations to our events, and visitors can often watch her making them right there at her stall. She has also expanded her creative talents into the world of millinery, making her collection even more exciting. Sarah is an absolutely fantastic person to work with and such a wonderful part of our Curated community. Top Tip and What’s in the Bag? We’re back with another Top Tip from one of our @curatedbydapperandsuave brands, filmed at our Summer Market @denbies_wine_estate This time we caught up with the Rachel @herbelara , who shared one of her tips for creating a calming bedtime routine recommending incorporating a calming skin ritual before bed — adding that little bit of extra self-care to your nighttime routine and helping you take some time to relax. We all need a little bit of that? Also grabbed Raquel in the corridor for a spontaneous “What’s in the Bag?” 🍊 Marmalade she won while supporting the @thetylerabdulfoundation raising awareness around suicide prevention and mental health. 🍪 Some rather lovely cookies from one of our independent food businesses @homemaker_baker (Unfortunately our last event with us at Denbies) ✨Fridge Magnets - from @rosies_stained_glass - making sure her gifts are for everyone. + We LOVE this! Our events are about so much more than shopping. One of the things I wanted to do is create opportunities for young people who are interested in event management to gain real, hands-on experience of working at live events. I contacted @uniofsurrey & the response was fantastic - followed by face-to-face interviews I am delighted to welcome 3 new Brand Ambassadors to the @curatedbydapperandsuave team: Anupama, Sanjana & Tilly. Our Summer Market was their first event working together, in this video filmed by Nick @ccmediauk you’ll meet Anupama and Sanjana and hear what they thought of their first event Anupama @diary_in_transit loved meeting our independent businesses + discovering just how friendly - welcoming our community is & discovered one of the dangers of working of a pop up shopping market… wanting to buy EVERYTHING! In fact, she was so determined not to miss out on her tiramisu @homemaker_baker that she had asked for one to be put aside after seeing they were selling out! Sanjana spent her first event meeting our businesses, welcoming visitors and getting to know how everything works behind the scenes of course, she couldn’t resist a little shopping either, treating herself to one of the beautiful hairpins @psquared_psquared @dancer_tilly our third new Brand Ambassador. She joined us for the morning before heading off to celebrate something rather important – her birthday! So we’ll be introducing you properly to Tilly very soon. They’re not simply here to work on event days. Want them to have opportunities to learn, contribute ideas, experience different areas of event management and develop their skills as they become more involved. They’re joining a fantastic wider team of people who help make these events happen including @jakubdurian - to follow and Dan @aloftivisuals who captures so much of the photography and video that tells the story of our markets. I’m incredibly proud of the team and excited to see how our new Brand Ambassadors grow with us.
