Friday Night Lights!!! 🏈 🔥 It was a great night for the Dunham vs St James game. We love the opportunity to highlight our corporate sponsorship with @dunhamschoolbr. It is a privilege to provide their sports medicine coverage, treat their student athletes, and care for their community at large. @ochsner_andrews_sports_med_br has an incredibly strong team serving the Baton Rouge region, and we have some of the best here with Dunham, especially with the return of @ccolburn7 to the sideline. It was also a pleasure hosting St James and their @ochsnerortho sports medicine team from New Orleans, along with Dr Thomas Vu representing our Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship program!!! Thanks @heidiw68 for brining the swag for the fans 🔥 and @lukebunchdpt for discussing all things Ochsner Sports Medicine, Therapy, and Wellness with the Dunham Radio Broadcast!!! @dunhamathletics @ochsnerbatonrouge @ochsnertherapyandwellness @ochsnersportsmedfellowship @theamssm #primarycareaportsmedicine

🐯 ATHLETIC TRAINER APPRECIATION MONTH 🐯

A huge THANK YOU to Christian Colburn for all the hard work, dedication, and care you provide to our athletes. From keeping our teams healthy to helping them recover and perform at their best, your impact goes beyond the game. We appreciate everything you do behind the scenes and on the sidelines. Our program wouldn’t be the same without you!

We would like to thank all student assistants that Christian has had in his time this year — Cameron Besse, Jenna Eymard, and Mackenzie Sweatt who have worked under Christian as students at LSU and ULL.

We also would love to highlight the first year of the Dunham Sports Medicine program! We have several students enrolled in the course that is taught by Christian, and they are able to impact and help our athletes as well!

We couldn’t do it without all of you! Thank you for always going the extra mile for our teams.

🏈 STAFF OF THE YEAR 🏈

CONGRATULATIONS to our Dunham Tiger Football staff on being honored as the District, Metro, and State Staff of the year! Each of these men pour countless hours into our players and program, and deserve all recognition that comes their way!

Higher than any staff of the year title, each of these men are also STATE CHAMPIONS! We are incredibly blessed to have these men coaching for our school and are already looking forward to what next season has in store! CONGRATULATIONS Tigers!

With football season approaching, @ochsnerhealth athletic trainers led a sideline symposium for physical therapists, PAs, NPs, and physicians who will be providing sideline coverage this fall. They taught spine boarding techniques, sideline concussion management, and heat illness treatment. We are grateful for their expertise, and as a parent I am thankful we have this amazing group of athletic trainers watching over student athletes in the Baton Rouge community.

Another fantastic annual review to prepare our Sports Medicine team for sideline coverage has been achieved! Thank you to our exceptional team of athletic trainers for preparing this check-off series. Each year gets better and better.

We had a combined group of ATs, PTs, and sports medicine providers here at the @ochsnertherapyandwellness Burbank Clinic.

As a multidisciplinary team, we reviewed sideline emergency scenarios including: concussion protocols, heat related illness, spine boarding and basic life support.

Our athletes will be much safer this school year with this team on the sidelines.

Shout out to our fantastic Sports Medicine Team of volunteers for the Spring 2024 physicals. The last round of physicals were completed this morning at the Elite Ochsner Burbank location. Thank you to all of our teams, schools, and coaches that came out in preparation for 2024-2025 athletics.

Special thanks to the team volunteers of physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists, athletic trainers, administrators, and support personnel. You make these events possible for us to offer to the community.

A great night for some playoff hoops! I haven’t been out to as many games this year as I wanted, but we’ve got some teams still balling out in the playoffs. First up, Dunham took down St Charles 42-36. Then, Madison Prep finished I off Archbishop Hannan 66-57. Both now move on to the state semifinals in Lake Charles next week. Also, shout out to our two awesome athletic trainers with these schools, Tyler Guillot and Christian! March is National Athletic Training Month, and athletic trainers are the foundation of sports medicine and our sports medicine program at Ochsner. They are committed to their schools, put in countless hours taking care of their student athletes, are phenomenal at what they do, and are great men to boot!

March is #NationalAthleticTrainingMonth. Athletic trainers are the core of sports medicine. I can’t tell you how many lives (including my own) I have seen positively impacted by an athletic trainer. Often times, the work they put in is behind the scenes and thankless. I want to take time today to say thank you to all of the amazing athletic trainers who have taught me, treated me, and worked alongside me. Thank you for everything you do, your work ethic, your amazing skill set and knowledge, and your compassion. @ochsnerbatonrouge @ochsnersportsmedbr @ochsnerhealth
