This past Tuesday, CASA of Los Angeles hosted the 13th annual Women of LA City Hall, an evening celebrating the women who shape the city of Los Angeles and the work of standing up for children in foster care. We honored Councilmember Ysabel Jurado, Councilmember Heather Hutt, Councilmember Imelda Padilla, and LA City Engineer Crystal Lee.

None of it would be possible without our incredible supporters. A huge thank you to all our sponsors, with a special thank you to our Presenting Sponsor FOX Future and our Platinum Sponsor Kaiser Permanente.

Thank you also to our amazing Host Committee for their leadership and support, and to our Advocates for Women: Councilmember Adrin Nazarian, Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Councilmember John Lee, Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez, and Councilmember Tim McOsker.

And thank you to the amazing team at @redbirdvibianaevents for hosting us every year!

Your generosity helps CASA LA keep recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer advocates who make a lasting difference for youth in our community. We’re grateful to every one of you. 🙏

💙 COMMUNITY SAFETY IN ACTION | October 6, 2026

Tonight, the Office of Mayor Karen Bass and EmpowerLA brought neighbors together in Van Nuys for Community Safety: The Past, Present, and Future of Unarmed Crisis Response.

Leaders from CIRCLE and UMCR, alongside partners from LAPD and LAFD, shared how unarmed crisis response teams are supporting Angelenos in need. One powerful example was UMCR responders safely reuniting a disoriented 93-year-old man with his family after the fires.

Grateful to everyone who joined the conversation and is helping build a safer, more compassionate Los Angeles. 💙

Last night, we recognized the women who keep Los Angeles running, from Street Services crews and LAFD firefighters to engineers, planners, and the staff behind every City service.

The 13th Annual Women of Los Angeles City Hall supports CASA of Los Angeles and its work for children in foster care.

Thank you to every woman who shows up for this city, every single day.

El Grito was so much more than a stage.

In the VIP, every vendor and performer were intentionally curated and handpicked by Councilmember Imelda Padilla and her team to help bring her vision to life and tell the story of this beautiful and historic celebration. We were so proud to bring all of those pieces together — and even more grateful for the incredible vendors who worked alongside us to make it happen!

From production to décor, florals, rentals, entertainment and everything in between — this is what Harmony’s full-service event production looks like!

Concrete y su papá. Two generations, shoulder to shoulder, celebrating nuestra cultura at this year’s El Grito in Downtown Los Angeles. 🇲🇽 ringing in Mexican Independence Day. There’s something about capturing a father and son smiling together—a moment that becomes more valuable as the years pass. An honor to create arte with my camera and preserve a little piece of their story.

Por la familia, por nuestras raza. ¡Que viva México!—Rene “PoetKing” Rodriguez
