Forgot to do a little round up from Innsbruck in June. 🇦🇹

It's not just the athletes that reflect and work hard in-between comps... I've spent a lot of time reviewing my coaching and adapting my approach and communication to best support my athletes in-between world cups and events this year. 🌍 🏆

I'm continuously learning and striving to improve, especially ahead of the runup to qualifying for the LA28 games.
Still loads to learn and I'm looking forward to starting my @ukcoaching Women in High Performance programme imminently. 😁
I feel like I grew so much on last year's course with the wonderful Deena @drivetrain.coaching I'm psyched to keep the momentum going, feeling motivated! 🎉

I'm not really sure how or why the Vengaboys is our team hype song now, but it's been consistent across all our road trips to comps, and what a vibe. 😂 🚌 🪩

Laval was short and sweet, lots of great coaching moments and laughs. 😁

Apart from saying goodbye to my favourite feral French cat. 💔😭

Big thanks and well done: 🙏🏻👏🏻

I have just returned from my first para climbing World Cup in Innsbruck! 🇦🇹🧗‍♀️ Proudly representing @gb_climbing

The main aim was to get classified and although there have been many hurdles and a rather long and complicated classification appointment I was classified B2 as expected! 👀

After than I just wanted to climb well, enjoy the experience and learn lots from all my firsts. And I am pleased to say I managed just that! 🥳

Despite some difficulties with our communication devices for my first qualification route, I am super proud to have got 34+ on the very steep front wall. We had a long break between climbs which wasn't ideal as I didnt know whether to rest or climb. But I came off my second qualification beaming having come off only a few moves from the top (54+). 💪💪💪

This places me 7th overall - which is top half of a very competitive pack of climbers which I am very proud of. Lots of room for improvement though so now time to work out my next steps and train hard

I also absolutely loved soaking up the supportive and inspiring environment of being surrounded by such awesome para climbers from all over the world as well as spending some more time with my amazing gb climbing team members. I loved innsbruck as a city and cant wait to compete again.

Special thanks must go to:

@rowantheaccuser for her amazing guiding

@richard_slocock_gb_coach @suz_upgrade_climbing @markglennie_ and lucinda for their amazing coaching and support

@rudge_paraclimbing
@cdasied
@stevenmharper @bella_the_paraclimber @luke_paraclimbing @ewan_paraclimbing for their friendship and support leading up to and at this comp

@neilchant for the time he kindly gives to sight guide my trianing in exeter

And to everyone else who made this so specail

A huge thanks to @ciaofoundation for helping to fund my coaching support for this event

Innsbruck Para World Series event p.26 🇦🇹

If they gave out medals for the ability to hang in one spot without advancing I would be a gold medalist for sure 🤪

Sadly they don’t.

Route 1 was the ‘easier’ of my 2 qualifiers. However, I got stuck for over 2 minutes trying to find a way round a move that I was struggling to get my left arm up to.

I eventually used a higher foot hold and twisted my hips closer into the wall. By then I was cooked and managed another couple of moves before falling off. Mistake from me. Lesson - get better at route reading and my understanding my limitations.

Route 2 was on a super steep section of the wall and I feel I did as good as I physically could and was happy with my performance.

I had high expectations going into the comp and I’m coming away disappointed in my overall placing. I expect better of myself.

I have positives to take away including my new RP1 sports class which will be in the Paralympics. However based on this comp I’m a long way off where I need to be (only 10 spaces available and the competition is high)

My main takeaway is getting to spend time with such an amazing community of people who are all going through similar experiences both on and off the wall. I can’t tag them all but they all know who they are ❤️🫶🏻

It’s these people that will always keep me showing up and striving for more.

Big up to the coaches and all the @gb_climbing para team for giving it their best efforts and especially @lux_losey_sail for bringing home a silver medal 🥈

Let me ask you a question 🙋

How much climbing are you missing because of your skin? 👀

Splits. Flappers. Cracked tips. Dry skin.

Every climber knows the frustration of being forced to stop just when things are starting to click.

That’s exactly why ClimbCare exists.

Natural skincare made specifically for climbers — designed to help keep your skin nourished, protected and ready for the next session 💪

This reel features real members of the climbing community who support and use ClimbCare, and I’m genuinely grateful to every single person who took part. Thank you ! 🙏🏻 ❤️

Last Saturday we, along with @lifealignedchiro had the privilege of sponsoring the first ever @grit.cic para climbing festival @270climbing

It was an amazing day with some amazing athletes in both the children’s and adults competition.

My boys competed in the boys open category and brought home a medal each 😁💥🫶🏻. They were super nervous but were so committed and had a great time 💪🏻

A lot of work went into this especially from @emilywright_para @jackie_paraclimbs and @rudge_paraclimbing and the event was a true success

See you next year? 😎🙌🏻💪🏻
