You have to trust that the universe will let you find your soulmate. And that soulmate is a tiny, athletic dachshund from Puerto Rico who loves to sleep and cuddle, eat white rice, is an expert climber, and doesn’t bark. Happy first adoption anniversary we love you so much Sophia Marie!

This is a video of Sophia last weekend doing a 6+ mile hike up six summits at Acadia National Park for 5 hours without being carried. We couldn’t believe her tiny ass really did that!

Forever grateful to @cdckrescue <3

This sweetie Sally loves to safely observe the goings on in the house on a chair under my table.

We have officially seen 5 foster graduates venture off to their new homes! Here’s a little retrospective on our pals Eyes, Perseverance, Carl, Julie and Crystal, who have all brought so much joy and giggles to our home over the last year. (And shout out to Buffy and Nutmeg, our generous and gracious feline hosts!)

We can’t wait to see who comes along next 🩷 @cdckrescue

Hey #DC! Find your people during Community Week! All week long, communities across the city are opening their doors: run clubs, book clubs, yoga, trivia, mahjong, movie nights, and more. Go out and meet new people. They could be your forever friends (or more, you never know). Browse the full calendar of gatherings at www.communityweek.co/dc!

@communityweek.dc is sponsored by @on.weeknights and @ridealso

Ruby! What a gem ♥️💎🐶. Here’s what we learned about her over the weekend:

🥰 Total love bug and expert cuddler
🏙️ The city is both exciting and new for her
🐕 Pretty good on a leash; great meeting others
👃 Enjoys a good sniffari expedition
💩 Likely already potty trained
🐿️ Nuts for squirrels! Bring out her hind leg hop
🏡 Crossing barriers (going in/out of a house) and navigating stairs is a little scary, but getting braver
🥪 Loves cold cuts/cheese, jury still out on kibble
🎾 Great play buddy!
♥️ Has a lot of love to give.

Adoptable from @cdckrescue.
