Last Thursday evening, Charlie and I opened our inaugural show at Permanent Location – a funny little 4x4m pavilion in East London, by Victoria Park, that we’ve taken over until the end of next year to run as an exhibition space.

The show brings together David Annesley and Luke Samuel – two artists of vastly different generations whose practices are rooted in a shared interest in form, colour and material.

It’s a privilege to be able to present David’s handmade maquettes, which have never been exhibited before, alongside two new paintings by Luke.

Thanks to everyone who came by and to everyone who helped make it happen.

News! Two new art spaces open in East London.

After a busy summer I can finally announce that two new “micro galleries” will open in Bow Wharf, next to Victoria Park and very close to the Chisenhale. The two spaces follow a conversation between myself and Charlie Nia Dunnery McCracken about the current financial challenges facing galleries in London. We found these two pavilions, very small (4 x 4 meters) and very cheap and decided to collaborate, help each other, and open next to each other. Charlie is working with Berlin based Lincoln Dexter and their space is called PERMANENT LOCATION (the pavilions are ear marked to be demolished at some point, hence their cheapness) and mine is called ROOM 10 (because it’s pavilion number 10…no imagination there) - my first show is by SIMON BEDWELL the co-founder of the legendary collective BANK. Opens 1st October. Thank you.

Quick, shameless post to share that I’ve been working on an exhibition at the wonderful @sidmotiongallery (thx Sid ❤️) with my no. 1 girl crush @cdmccracken 🥰

The show includes work by the barnstormingly amazing artists Remi Ajani, Hangama Amiri, Alessio Bolzoni, Helena Foster, Asta Gröting and Mike Silva

A little while ago @snapcollectiveworld approached me about publicising a book of my work.

Book description:

'Professional Girl Guide' is a limited edition publication of work by Australian artist, Eva Dixon. 'PGG' is an insight into the artist's making process, focusing on the: cutting, sticking, sewing, finding and scraping; all documented through the lens of photographer Brynley Odu Davis. With contributing text by curators, writers and art historians; Olivia Rumsey, Freddie Foulkes, Vittoria Beltrame, Amber Collins, Charlie Nia Dunnery McCracken, Verity Babbs, Alexandra Steinacker, Mithra Stevens, Mollie Barnes, Sarah Emily Green and Phoebe Minson.

Pre-orders are limited, if you've ever wanted to support me and aren't able to afford my work, this is the best way- I've made this book as an insight into my making process and as a platform to share some of my favourite collaborators. This book has reference images, interviews and is filled with very pretty pictures 💕

If you are a collector of mine and want to continue supporting me, this is also the best way (or if you've been waiting for the right time!)! The book isn't going to be available for very long after the pre-order period so get it while you can.
