‼️If sciatica keeps coming back no matter how much you stretch your leg, this is for you!

🔑Sciatica pain often happens when the sciatic nerve gets irritated in the lower back due to things like a disc bulge.

🔅That’s why stretching the leg gives only temporary relief, it doesn’t always address the source of the nerve compression.

Here are 3 gentle stretches that may help relieve nerve pressure and reduce sciatica pain:

1️⃣ Wall Lean Stretch (Side Glide)

• Stand with the painful side away from the wall
• Feet hip-width apart
• Gently shift your hips toward the wall
• Hold 20–30 seconds
• Repeat 3–5 times

2️⃣ Lying Sciatic Nerve Floss

• Lie on your back
• Lift the painful leg with a slight bend in the knee
• As you straighten your leg, tilt your head back
• As you bend the leg, point your toe down and tuck your chin toward your chest
• Slow and controlled for 10–15 reps

3️⃣ Figure-4 Piriformis Stretch

• Cross your painful leg over the other like a “4”
• Use your hand to gently press the top knee away
• Keep your back straight and lean forward slightly if seated
• Hold 20–30 seconds
• Repeat up to 5 times

These movements can help relieve pressure on the sciatic nerve, but if your pain keeps coming back, it may need more than stretching.

📩 DM “SCIATICA” if you want us to help find the root cause and build a plan to get you pain-free again.

What an empowering day at the Scarborough Business Association SBA event held at the Sam Ibrahim Building, celebrating women leaders, innovation, and community! 💫

From thoughtful guest speakers (including Sam Ibrahim) to dynamic live demos and vendors galore, the energy was unmatched. One of my favourite parts? The mini physio care from @strengthnu & txs @ceazarsnu
for the neck massage and it was pure bliss. 🙌

Supporting local businesses and uplifting women in tech is always a priority, this was a reminder of how much talent and creativity lives in our communities.

If you caught the reel, you’ll see glimpses of the speeches, vendor tables, and the real behind-the-scenes magic.
Want to chat about real estate, community impact, or just connect over shared passions? My DMs are open, I’d love to hear from you. 💛

Failing alone is never the answer. Growth happens when you let others in—good people, good love, and good energy. ✨

This 10K will always remind me: hurdles are lighter when you don’t carry them alone. 🫶🏼

Did you know two small muscles under your jaw could be causing your TMJ pain? 😬

They’re called the digastric muscles and when they’re tight, they can mess with how your jaw moves leading to pain, clicking sounds, or a jaw that doesn’t open fully.

🔍 What Are the Digastric Muscles?
The digastric muscle has two parts. The anterior belly (front) runs from your chin to the hyoid bone in your throat. The posterior belly (back) goes from behind your ear to the same hyoid bone.

These muscles help you open your mouth and support your throat while you swallow and talk.

🔧 How Do We Release Them?

1. Manual Therapy (done by a therapist):
A therapist can use their fingers to apply gentle pressure inside your mouth, under the chin, to release the anterior belly. For the posterior belly, they work under your jawline and behind your ear using external pressure.

2. Dry Needling or Acupuncture:
This technique focuses on releasing deep muscle tension by inserting very fine needles into trigger points in the digastric muscles.

3. Self-Release (you can try this at home):
Use your fingers or a lacrosse ball to gently press under your jaw (for the anterior belly) and behind your ear (for the posterior belly). While doing this, take deep breaths and slowly open your mouth.

🧠 Extra Tip:
TMJ issues often involve more than just one muscle. For long-term relief, we usually combine digastric release with other treatments.

These include releasing tight neck and jaw muscles like the SCM, masseter, and trapezius.

We also work on correcting forward head posture, improving tongue posture, and encouraging nasal breathing.

Finally, stress management is key. Jaw clenching is common when you're stressed, so learning to manage stress can make a big difference.

Want to know if this can help you?
