POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some places become more than just streets, galleries, or venues. They become part of our story.
With everything happening lately around the Las Vegas Arts District and First Friday, I can’t help but look back with nostalgia and gratitude.
As a photographer who moved here from Mexico City, I had the privilege of witnessing this Art scene bloom since 2000…I crossed paths with incredible OGs, artists, musicians, and dreamers who gave this community its soul and paved the way for future generations.
First Friday, Emergency Arts, Beauty Bar, Vanguard and the after with Cheffini’s… unforgettable nights filled with creativity, friendships, and beautiful chaos.
Through my lens, I wasn’t just capturing events. I was documenting a community, its people, its energy, and moments that would eventually become history. Looking through my archives today reminds me how special those days were.
Photography isn’t just about preserving how things looked, but how they felt.
I hope that magic returns someday. And if it doesn’t, what a privilege it was to witness it, be part of it, and capture so much incredible local talent.
Places change, venues disappear, but the Art, the people, and the memories live on….

Much love to the OGs who built the foundation and the new generations keeping the creative spirit alive. 🖤📸
Con amor y nostalgia, desde mi lente.

Contra-ICE Vol. 1: ICE OUT will be released Oct. 2 via @soundsgood_presents. The record features contributions from over 30 artists, including @mskathleenhanna @sordociego @tommorello, @adrianmquesada @cecibastida and more with the cover art by @laloalcaraz1 taking inspiration from Lozano's paletero cart, retrofitted with a booming sound system.

Proceeds from the album, as well as a benefit concert in LA on Oct. 3, will go towards political and social activist organizations @uniondelbarrio, @daylaborernetwork and more. @dalicolorado tells @npr says she chose organizations advocating on the ground on behalf of immigrants being targeted at their job sites and their families.
