Artist Spotlight: Guadalupe Carrizo

Guadalupe Carrizo is an Argentine visual artist, photographer, and environmental activist whose practice explores the relationships between nature, territory, resistance, and environmental transformation. Working with herbicide-resistant plants, Carrizo transforms plant matter into pigment and artwork, examining the ways landscapes and ecosystems respond to human intervention.

Carrizo is currently showing with Ceibo Gallery at Laundromat Art Space in “Hortalizas: Sprout, Edge, and Emergence,” a solo exhibition exploring the relationship between plants, territory, and resistance. Working with herbicide-resistant plants, Carrizo transforms botanical matter into pigments and artworks, highlighting the tension between ecological systems and the forces that seek to control them. The exhibition considers plants as sites of resilience and emergence, connecting environmental concerns with questions of territory and resistance.
