Our magical sunset floating sound bath returns for the 5th edition of the Island Wellness Retreat @cempedakisland and this time, we’re excited to welcome Imron Zulfikar to the team. He’ll be joining @alyssakau and me, bringing his experience in holistic wellness to the weekend.

With over a decade of international experience, Imron @thewellbeingpath_ has worked with a UAE Royal Family and Sir Richard Branson and his family on Necker Island. He’ll guide morning pranayama and offer therapeutic and restorative treatments at the spa throughout the weekend.

Alyssa and I will lead the main retreat programme, bringing together two complementary paths: RESTORE and RISE.

A personal trainer and yoga teacher at Peak Gym @peaksg, Alyssa brings over seven years of fitness experience, including pre- and postnatal coaching. She’ll lead RISE alongside the Cempedak team, combining strength, mobility and mindful movement to build confidence in what your body can do.

As your host and programme curator, I’ll lead RESTORE, bringing the practices explored in my book, GET UNSTUCK: The Road to Freedom, into an immersive experience through EFT tapping, chakra-balancing yoga and sound healing.

A weekend to move, rest and reconnect, with space to enjoy island life at your own pace.

The Ubah Rumah Residency Open Call closes on 15 November 2026.

Artists from, or based in, Southeast Asia are invited to spend 4–6 weeks on Nikoi Island in 2027 or 2028—developing new work, exchanging ideas, and responding to the island’s ecology, rhythms, and ways of living.

🇮🇩 Just off Bintan in Indonesia, Cempedak Private Island is an adults-only retreat where bamboo villas, turquoise water and untouched nature come together for a seriously relaxing escape.

There are just 20 villas, each designed to blend into the island’s tropical surroundings. Our 150sqm Seaview Villa came with its own infinity pool, a huge open-plan living space and uninterrupted views of the ocean.

And while this is definitely luxury, it’s not the polished, everything-under-one-roof kind. Cempedak is about barefoot living, natural ventilation, solar power, locally sourced produce and leaving much of the island untouched. Almost everything is designed to bring you closer to nature.

Days can be spent swimming, exploring the island’s nature trails, indulging at the spa or simply doing very little. Even meals are part of the experience, with generous Indonesian-inspired dishes served without the usual resort buffet.

The result? Barefoot luxury with a conscience, and one of those places where doing absolutely nothing suddenly feels like the perfect holiday.

Being clear about our intentions doesn’t have to be something we only do at the start of a new year.

Reflective practices give us the space to tune in, listen to our inner guidance and become clearer about what truly matters to us. From there, we can make the appropriate adjustments, let go of what no longer serves us and create space for something new, so that when the new year arrives, we are more than ready.

Our 5th edition Island Wellness Retreat at Cempedak, 13–16 November, is an opportunity to do exactly that. A few days to step away from the usual demands of everyday life, reconnect with the rhythms of nature and reset what we may have been carrying physically, mentally and emotionally throughout the year.

This edition offers 2 complementary paths:

RESTORE: Healing & Alignment
Led by me, with sound healing, EFT tapping and chakra-balancing yoga to help restore inner calm, reconnect with yourself and come back into alignment.

RISE: Strength & Clarity
Led by @alyssakau of @peaksg and the Cempedak team, with outdoor fitness and cold plunge therapy designed to build strength and resilience.

We’ll also be returning to the water for a sunset floating sound bath — one of my favourite ways to experience sound while surrounded by nature.

And for the first time, we’ll be joined by visiting Wellness & Longevity Specialist Imron Zulfikar @thewellbeingpath_ , who will lead a Detox & Purifying Pranayama session on Saturday morning and offer a range of therapeutic and restorative treatments throughout the weekend to support alignment, mobility and overall well-being.

Perhaps we don’t need to wait until January to decide how we want the next year to feel. We can begin by slowing down, listening, letting go of what we no longer need and making space for what we want to create next.

Exactly two years ago, we spent our honeymoon here. When our world trip brought us back to Singapore right around our anniversary, returning to Cempedak felt like a dream.

This island is pure paradise, but what truly makes it special is the people. Between the warm hospitality, the peaceful atmosphere, and the incredible food, it is one of our favorite places on earth.

A huge thank you to the incredible team for having us back and making us feel right at home!

Cempedak wird für immer einen ganz besonderen Platz in unseren Herzen haben. 🏝️✨

Genau vor zwei Jahren haben wir hier unsere Flitterwochen verbracht. Als uns unsere Weltreise pünktlich zu unserem Jahrestag wieder nach Singapur geführt hat, fühlte sich die Rückkehr nach Cempedak wie ein Traum an.

Diese Insel ist das reine Paradies, aber was sie wirklich so besonders macht, sind die Menschen. Die herzliche Gastfreundschaft, die himmlische Ruhe und das fantastische Essen machen sie zu einem unserer absoluten Lieblingsorte.

Ein großes Dankeschön an das wundervolle Team – danke, dass wir wieder bei euch sein durften! Wir haben uns ab der ersten Sekunde wie zu Hause gefühlt.

😢❤️🙌🏻 Und dann haben wir die einsame Insel verlassen mit Tränen in den Augen. Was sind schon Krabbeltiere für dieses Dschungel-Erlebnis. Wir kommen wieder (nach Nacht 1 für mich undenkbar) und mein Sohn (Kids hier erst ab 16 erlaubt) wurde vom ganzen Team so herzlich integriert. Es wurde schon nach einem Ferienjob gefragt 😂 Wir sind so geflasht von der Herzlichkeit der Menschen im Resort, vom Essen und dass man barfuß von morgens bis abends so entspannen kann. Zurück geht es nach Singapur und dann in nächste Abenteuer. Nur ohne Krabbeltiere (hoffe ich). ☺️

Ps. Auf Nikoi Island (gleicher Besitzer) ist es auch für jüngere Kinder geeignet.
