Once again, we’re blown away by this beautiful new body of work from Coco Productions photographer, aerial photographer and artist Andy Vukosav 📷✈️! @cessnacam At first glance, it’s almost impossible to place what you’re looking at. Sometimes it feels like another planet..Sometimes you look twice and think it’s a watercolour or an abstract painting and when you realise these are landscapes photographed by Andy from the air as he pilots his plane across Australia, it really does take your breath away. Such an extraordinary way of seeing the world 👏🏼 In Andy’s words: “Some are quiet. Some are strange. Some barely seem photographic at all. But they all came from those moments I’m constantly searching for, when the landscape suddenly reveals something I hadn’t expected and my first reaction is simply: My God, that’s beautiful. Only afterwards comes the inevitable question: What on earth is that? That combination of wonder, mystery and discovery is still the thing that keeps me flying.” See Andy’s new collection at Cessnacam. Andrew Vukosav is an Australian aerial landscape photographer whose work offers a radically different perspective on the continent, moving beyond traditional outback clichés to reveal abstract, surreal, and often fragile interpretations of the land. Flying solo into some of the most remote regions of Australia, Andrew undertakes journeys that can last days or even weeks, photographing coastlines, deserts, salt pans, and geological formations from directly overhead. With over four decades of experience as a commercial photographer and a lifelong passion for aviation, Andrew engineered a unique photographic system by mounting a 150MP medium format camera into the underbelly of his single-engine aircraft. In this setup, the entire plane effectively becomes the camera body, banking and pitching into position for each image. The result is a visual language that feels unframed and immersive, as if the viewer is suspended in open air rather than looking through a cockpit window. Andrew’s work explores the tension between fluidity and permanence—estuaries swirl like clouds, salt lakes resemble glaciers, and deserts appear both vast and delicate. Beneath the visual abstraction lies a deeper intent: to document the environmental fragility of Australia’s landscapes and encourage dialogue around sustainability and conservation. In this episode, Andrew Vukosav discusses combining engineering with photography, navigating extreme isolation, researching geology and Indigenous land significance, and how encounters with artists at the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards reshaped his creative direction. He also shares insights into international exhibitions, including DFAT-supported tours and climate-focused events, and why minimal digital manipulation remains central to his process. I hope you enjoy the show! Absolutely magical aerial shot by Andy Vuk for his personal series.. 📸✈️ @cessnacam A little about the image by the artist himself: It’s as if the Earth paused mid-breath to sketch a secret. From above, the tidal channels bloom like the ghost of a tree—its branches etched delicately into sand, reaching outward as though trying to touch the mangroves that cradle it. The water below curves in a soft, impossible green, a quiet arc that seems to hold the whole scene in its palms. It feels like witnessing a conversation between land and tide: a fleeting artwork made not by chance but by patient repetition—water writing its name into the coastline again and again until the sand agrees to remember it. A place both ancient and newborn, where geology paints in strokes so tender they could be mistaken for poetry Enjoy! Andy Xx We just love this Andy!! @cessnacam #photographer #photoftheday #aerial #magic #treeoflife #❤
