I learned:
-a new skill to portal between dimensions

I asked:
-why? why? why? why? why?
-what if?

I played with:
-form
-interspecies communication
-new friends and fellows

I wrote:
-journal entries for every day
-poetry, fragments, ideas, a presentation
-with mother nature
-the words and drawings my ancestors channeled through me

I read:
-tree roots and branches
-sound and birdsongs
-behind closed eyes
-half a book
-shadows

I dreamt:
-jungle fever dreams
-of reconciliation with my selves
-of news that doesn't disregulate me
-of a world beyond AI
-of a world in harmony with mother nature
-of a world I want to live in

I feel:
-expansive
-deep gratitude
-playful
-fire moving through my veins
-hopeful
-a crack opening within me
-confident in my creative intuition

I am, I am, I am.

Thank you @vacenterforthecreativearts for sharing your sanctuary with us, to those who encouraged me to apply/attend this residency, and the extraordinary fellows I met along the way. Onwards. 💖

Post the massive solo show related work, the need to stay quiet seems natural. To lie fallow like over-tilled soil. Studio work has looked like reading/audio books, educational meetings on @netvvrk.art , gardening, clearing out the aftermath of the show, storing unsold work, checking on the dehumidifiers in the basement so the work is safe, mundane stuff and of course my teaching. As I close out this semester, I am getting uplifting feedback from my students @artscouncilofprinceton and at my Home Studio and that is always gratifying. But….I have barely drawn/painted in the studio for weeks until yesterday….. I got to draw live at Gleasons Boxing Gym with my friend and one of my fave teachers from @svamfaillustration days, @cfabricatore and our friend, the talented illustrator @ishitajain24
.
The lithe, powerful bodies, so much rapid movement, banter, forceful instruction, weaving complex moves; so grateful for the opportunity to observe the amazing boxers at Gleasons. They were kind, supportive and a joy to draw. 🥊❤️🥊 Thank you dear Carol, the legendary Bruce Silverglade and @gleasonsgym !

Artist Highlight: Carol Fabricatore
NAWA Online Winter Small Works
On view Now through February 28, 2026

This was painted on-site at Wave Hill Gardens. I was inspired by the depth of the palm layers in the Brazilian garden. The different sizes of the palms, whether it be wide, tall, or arching with diagonal stems interjecting motion, were fun to contrast with each other with abstract strokes and color.

Online Artist Talk: Thursday, February 12, 2026 | 5–7 PM
