National Farmers Day is an everyday celebration around here. 🌿🌸

Farmers are the backbone of this country and I’m especially grateful for the flower and foliage farmers who make what we do at The Floral Source possible.

I’ve traveled across this country, walked these fields and greenhouses and watched farmers and their farm teams work day in and day out to grow the flowers we get to design with. Seeing the care, knowledge and hard work behind every stem makes me even more committed to supporting American grown flowers and the people behind them.

These are the hands that make it possible for us to create beauty with flowers grown right here in this country. They deserve our gratitude, our recognition and our support all year long.

If flowers are part of your life, a farmer is part of your story. And around here, celebrating them is an everyday thing.

Every American grown bloom begins with a farmer. 🌸
•
On National Farmers Day, we celebrate the people who plant, nurture, harvest and keep growing through unpredictable weather, long days, and the demands of each season. Their knowledge, care and perseverance bring beauty to our tables, our celebrations and our everyday lives.
•
To our flower and foliage farmers—and the farmworkers whose skilled hands make every harvest possible—thank you. You deserve to be celebrated today and all year long!
•
Let’s turn that gratitude into support:
- ASK where your flowers were grown
- CHOOSE American grown, and help keep our flower farms thriving.

Tag a flower or foliage farmer you’re grateful for! 💚

What a wonderful couple of days of Pumpkin Bouquet Workshops! 🎃

We loved welcoming everyone to the farm….so many familiar faces returning again this year, along with lots of new faces joining us for the first time. There’s something pretty special about gathering around the table, getting creative, and spending a fall afternoon together.

Saturday’s workshop was made even more special when @juliarunyanrealestate hosted her clients as a way to show her appreciation. Thank you, Julia, for choosing Turnbull Farm to treat your wonderful group! 🤍

And a huge thank you to @cfgreens for sponsoring our workshops and providing the beautiful fresh greens we used as filler in our pumpkin arrangements. Their gorgeous greenery added the perfect finishing touch! 🌿

Thank you to every single person who joined us. We truly appreciate your support of our little farm and love sharing these days with you.

Until next year, pumpkin workshops! 🤍

After years of designing large scale installations, I’m still questioning, experimenting, and looking for different ways to approach the work.

That was the heart of my recent hands-on class at @longwoodgardens, where we explored traditional floral mechanics alongside more sustainable approaches.

Because before you build something big, there’s a lot to think about:

Concept. Space. Scale. Color. Flowers. Mechanics. Construction and everything in between!

And the mechanics? They’re not an afterthought. They’re part of the design.

There isn’t always one right way to build something. Sometimes the best place to start is simply by asking better questions.

And then… build. 💪💐💐💐

Thank you to…
@mybloomvision for our AMAZING mock up software!
@newagefloral for the best mechanics
@phillyfloralguild for the BEST LOCAL blooms
@cfgreens for the most amazing Maple, Nandina + snowberry!
@dvflora for beautiful blooms + supplies!
