WE GOT THE LA2050 GRANT!!! 🥳 Every year, more than 1,000 orgs apply for @la2050 – and LARC was one just 67 applicants selected 😱 We’re so appreciative of Meredith from the @brunswick_foundation for supporting us this year and to the entire @goldhirshfdn team for putting this initiative together. And such an amazing bonus to get official commendations from Los Angeles County Supervisor @lindseyphorvath and California State Assemblymember @isaacgbyron honoring LARC’s work across Southern California. What a great way to spend a Wednesday!!!

This morning, LA Forward members joined union workers and community groups to support Nithya Raman for Mayor! We’re excited about the growing coalition behind her. We believe in her vision for how the City and County can work together to tackle our biggest challenges — including housing, homelessness, and climate change. Together, we’ll make sure that LA City government truly delivers for all Angelenos.

Hear from activists, community organizers, and local leaders on what it takes for our communities to build the people and political power to hold corporations and elected leaders accountable.

This is plática, política y pueblo. 🎙️

🎙️ EL MIC IS HERE! EPISODE 1 IS LIVE!🎙️

El MIC (Media in Color) is a podcast that seeks to empower, engage and activate our communities with knowledge and information.

From the devastating LA fires to the effects of the toxic Lineage fire in Boyle Heights still under scrutiny, we take a deep dive into the effects of environmental racism on working class Latino communities and the fight for health equity.

Our guests Senator @sashareneeperez, community organizer @thatfoolmark, and social justice CALÓ reporter @brendaverano_ examine community-centered leadership, how to hold corporations accountable and solutions to mitigate environmental & chemical disasters.

I had the pleasure of being on the premiere episode of El MIC, joining @calonewsla & @latinomediacollaborative as we discussed environmental racism, health equity and the Latino vote. I’m grateful for the opportunity to discuss how the Eaton Fire contributed to the ongoing fight for health equity in a predominantly Black and Brown community, and how the government can and should best support the people who need help the most.

It was an honor to sit alongside @elarturocarmona, @ferminthecreator, @brendaverano_, @thatfoolmark and @cfuentesrun for this episode.

Officially a HOPE Alum! ✨

So grateful for the growth, meaningful conversations, and new perspectives gained through HOPE’s Regional Leadership Institute. Most of all, I’m grateful for the incredible women I met along the way and the friendships we built. 💜 @hopelatinas

After three months of planning, I could not be more excited for us to put on the fourth annual Westie Awards!

We broke fundraising and attendance records (raised $30k+ from over 60 sponsors) to recognize and award leaders nationally (Rep. Kamlager-Dove who fought back against Pam Bondi’s attacks on Culver City) and locally who are paving the way for young Angelenos!
