Post Operative Hip Rehab 🤝 Blood Flow Restriction Training.

Over the last week I’ve had the opportunity to train under BFR with my Athletic Therapist @chadfraser , with the goal of reducing atrophy and increasing strength even though my body cannot handle heavy weights during recovery.

BFR creates the feeling of training under heavy load without stress on the joints.

Such a valuable tool for post operative/injury recovery!

We introduced BFR with my Surgical Post Op Hip Exercises and a few upper body movements. Excited to utilize this as my rehab progresses and movement allowances increase!

*BFR Training should be supervised by someone trained, in order to ensure safety of use for each individual! Check with your surgical team first before using for post op rehab!*

We had the extreme pleasure of hosting @chadfraser while he was in town with @cirquedusoleil.
Chad is the gift that keeps giving...literally. Ask any of our members. We're so happy to have crossed paths with such an incredible person and hope that we'll be fortunate enough to have Black Tusk be your temporary home again in the future!

Proud to have been the home CrossFit gym for Cirque du Soleil - Kurios while they were doing two month run in Houston. Thanks Chad, Nathalie, and crew and hope to see you again sooner rather than later. #ballandchaincrossfit #cirquedusoleil #kurios #crossfit @thedavecastro @cirquedusoleil @chadfraser

The quick stop in Houston last week was really fun. Got to walk around their science museum and a few parks before catching the Cirque show. Headed out the door again tomorrow for more ninja action! Then a much needed long break lol.

Had a blast watching @cirquedusoleil #Kurios with some of my out of town ninja friends! Going back stage after the show to meet the performers motivated me to train harder. Right after the show they were drilling routines they just performed, cardio, weights etc. No days off!! Everyone go see it when you get the chance!!
