One year ago today, we stood on top of the world. 🏔️

From the Tibet side of Mount Everest — through the wind, the cold, the long days, and the endless push upward — we made it to the summit together.

What makes this memory unforgettable isn’t just the altitude or the view above the clouds… it’s the people beside me every step of the way. An incredible team that turned one of the hardest challenges into one of the greatest experiences of our life’s.

Grateful for every laugh, every struggle, every shared sunrise, and every moment that brought us to 8,848m. One year later, the mountain still feels close. ⛰️✨

Here’s to the team, the journey, and the memories that will last forever.

We got hit hard climbing up Cayambe in the early hours of the morning. A storm blew in making breaking trail difficult and visibility was low. Around 17,500ft our lead guide stopped and said to another guide “do you feel that?” Mike nodded back in affirmation. They both felt the electricity in the air and told us to about face and head back down. No one hesitated and we were back at high camp just before sunrise. The snow made the lower scramble sections difficult in 8000m boots and I pulled my quad trying to gently ease my weight down without slipping.

This is mountaineering. Summits aren’t guaranteed, and as @mikepondclimbs said “Live to bail another day.” The summit isn’t what this sport is about. New connections, listening to others’ stories, supporting one another, pushing past your personal comfort zone - these are the reasons I love “grind” sports.

Ecuador provided! Redemption from last year with a successful summit of Cotopaxi (19,347’) and a great week in the Andes. Chimborazo conditions didn’t line up, but we got to see part of the route to end the trip on a high note. What’s next?

First round of stills from Aconcagua 🙏

What a spectacular and sublime mountain experience. Gratitude was always with me here. Spending almost two weeks moving through the Stone Sentinel’s Mars-like landscape changed me for the better. The mountain asked so much from me; in return it gave me my confidence back. Altitude is brutal and beautiful.

What a joy and a privilege it was to walk these ancient halls carved of ice and stone and think, “I’m okay.”

UPDATE: SUMMIT!! 🏔️⚡️💕

After a 3am start in the dark, brutal cold before the sunrise, and navigating the final crux of the mountain that guards the summit… we made it to the top at 22,841 ft.

We’re incredibly proud of our whole team’s efforts—not just for reaching the summit, but for exercising solid decision-making the whole way, and then continuing to push long after reaching the top to descend all the way to Base Camp, completing a full traverse of the mountain.

All in all, summit day was roughly a 17-hour effort from our team. Congrats not just to those who topped out, but to everyone who left it all on the mountain. 🙏

We’re at Camp 3!! We’ll spend the rest of the day recovering, rehydrating, and resting as much as we can before an early start around 3am for the summit 🙏

The weather is looking *amazing* for our climb to the tallest point outside of the Himalayas 🤘 wish us luck!

Last rest day before our Aconcagua summit push! 🙏 We’ve been resting and recovering at 18,000 ft in Camp 2 for a few days now. Even on a Rapid Ascent program, these built-in days are extremely important for overall acclimatization before we make a big move up high.

Tomorrow, we’ll move up to Camp 3 at 19,600 ft, eat a hot meal, and get as much sleep as we can before an early wake up to make the last push to the summit.

After a month of pre-acclimatizing at home and 8 days so far on the mountain, we’re primed and ready for a big effort on the tallest peak in the Americas. Stay tuned for more updates from Aconcagua. 🇦🇷

High winds created some epic conditions for our team on Aconcagua to acclimatize up to camp 2 today at 18,000 feet! 💨💨💨

Everyone arrived at Camp 2 for some hot soup and a little rest before descending back to Camp 1 at 16,500 ft. Despite the harsh conditions, the whole team dug deep and crushed it today. More updates on our summit push soon! 🏔️

The real climbing begins on Aconcagua! Today the team loaded up and covered 2,700’ in 3 miles from Plaza Argentina Base Camp at 13,800’ to Camp 1 at 16,500 💪

Team’s feeling good, tomorrow we’ll touch C2 and keep an eye out for our summit weather window!

How’s life at 14,000 ft in Aconcagua base camp? While plenty of mountains still get climbed old school, Aconcagua has seen some serious upgrades in the last 20 years.

Warm dome tents, hot showers, cozy lounge spaces, restaurant-quality kitchens, fresh-pressed juice, steak every day … almost sounds like a nice hotel, right?

Truth is, it’s not that far off.

On big mountains, comfort and recovery are crucial to success. There’s an expedition, and then there’s an Alpenglow Expedition. ⚡️
