This week at FRAME we bring a special curation in partnership with @cinemata.apac . Anthropocinema is a film programme that explores the intertwining nature of capitalism and the Anthropocene; curated by @ayertiam.in , community curator-in-residence for Cinemata. It explores how the current geological epoch referred to by some as the Anthropocene is shaping socio-cultural structures and how its political and ecological repercussions are interconnected. Moving beyond traditional environmental messaging to explore climate change, species extinction, extractivism, manufactured landscapes, labour patterns, economic migration, and displacement in South and South-East Asia. The programme is divided in 2 chapters: Chapter I: The Human Epoch Chapter II: Posthuman and Beyond Chapter II is a collection of experimental films and conceptual video art works. It takes the audience on a journey — starting from the beginnings of civilization to modern day industrialization, extraction and exploitation; personification of natural and supernatural elements from indigenous beliefs in relation to capitalist systems. · the universe loves us in a special way, we are starting the fire horse year with a cool constellation of screenings ✨ we are so happy to share that our film latex labyrinth will be screening in Amsterdam's Eye Filmmuseum at the Cinedans FEST '26 and also Art Basel Hong Kong by Nowness Asia, curated by Ellen Pau - both falling on the same weekend in the last week of March. words can't construct how honoured we are to be able to tell this part of our country's history on these prestigious international platforms, and all the different people our film will meet. i want to pat our film on her shoulder and tell her not to be scared, as she will be alone on these seemingly big and scary stages. be courageous, stand tall, and dance. hug hug kiss kiss. big hug little kiss. if you are in Amsterdam or Hong Kong, i hope you would come and meet our rubber trees, our songs, and our history.
