We are only a week away!!! AI can make creative work faster, cheaper, and more abundant. So when almost anything can be generated in seconds, what becomes more valuable?

At DIMSUMX, we’re bringing people who make, build, fund, and experience creative work to the same table to explore:

🎬 When does AI open up new creative possibilities?
💸 If making work costs less, where does the value move?
🧑‍🎨 Could “Made by Humans” become the next mark of craftsmanship?

Meet our Saturday speakers: Erik Weaver, Munika Lay, Fred Grinstein, Jaice DuMars, Tom Thudiyanplackal, and Sumbry.

This won’t be a conversation where experts talk and everyone else listens. Bring your questions and your perspective. You’ll help shape the discussion.

POV: Dim Sum Carr Is Your Dating App 🥟😂

Every dim sum has a dating personality, but choosing only one might be impossible.

Which one are you taking home tonight? Better question: how many?

Would you fly 1,200 miles for one dinner and not knowing if anyone would come?

I did. 🥟

Eight people from different worlds took a chance on one table in Atlanta. There were no presentations and no pressure to perform, just dim sum passed around, honest conversations, We explored one question: What is AI changing, and what do humans still own?

As @themarketingmuse360 shared, “The culture, the food and the heart of everyone came together.”

This is what I hoped DIMSUMX could feel like: a table where people feel safe enough to bring their whole selves.

Thank you everyone who showed up and trusted the table, Atlanta. Big shout out to my cohost @bethtjarrett for believing in me and DIMSUMX! Couldn’t had done without you!

Every mile was worth it. ❤️

Now that you know the two-finger thank-you tap, be careful which finger you tap with at dim sum.

Choose the wrong one, and you might start a fight. 😂🫖

Before chicken feet reach the dim sum table, every single toenail has to go. 💅🐔

Today’s clients: dozens of feet. Zero tips.

No pedicure, no 凤爪.

Send this to the friend who always orders chicken feet—and tell them to tip extra. That pedicure didn’t do itself. 😂

Someone recently turned down my dim sum dinner invitation, partly because he believed dim sum belongs at brunch, not dinner.

As someone who grew up going for night tea in China, and now hosts nighttime DIMSUMX gatherings across America, I had to correct this misconception.

Dim sum is the food. Yum cha is the experience.

And Cantonese yum cha isn’t limited to the morning. We have morning tea, afternoon tea, and night tea.

Have you ever had nighttime yum cha? Are you a morning, afternoon, or nighttime yum cha person?

Comment your city. Next, I’ll show you where to find dim sum after dark.

Chinese families say, “Let’s go yum cha.”

Americans say, “Let’s get dim sum.”

Same table. Same tradition. Different name.

So why did “yum cha” fade into the background while “dim sum” became the word America remembered?

The answer is hidden in two tea rooms, one dictionary, and more than a century of immigration. 🥟🫖

Did you grow up saying “dim sum” or “yum cha”?
