And that is the end of the 2025 racing season! Qld State Swimming Champs and Freya's birthday week.

It has been a very tumultuous year and we couldn't be more proud of Freya. If I thought she showed resilience last year, this year has been even more challenging. After a 4-month break from swimming, we did not know what to expect coming into state titles and had considered skipping it. She showed how tough she really is and we can't wait to see what 2026 brings. She is incredibly happy in her new squad. Seeing her come home everyday with a smile is something we have missed.

We are very grateful to Jeff @the_podium_group who has walked with Freya through the ups and downs over the past few years. Her mindset has never been better. Thank you!

Thank you to everyone @kawanawatersswimclub for welcoming Freya with open arms. A special thanks to Damien @djbawden you showed kindness, patience and really made an effort to understand what Freya needed over the past few months (especially as she was coming off such a long break). @janellep88 thanks for the past few weeks and especially this week. You are one of a kind and I cannot think of someone who I would want more in Freya's corner. Can't wait to see what you achieve with the team in 2026.

@lysskoenen_dietitian you have been with us for the journey so far and we are so grateful for your knowledge, courage to speak up and care for Freya.

State results:
16yr Qld
5th 200m freestyle
8th 100m freestyle

Qld State Swimming Champs 2024.

After the most challenging year healthwise of her life, Freya has shown more grit and resilience than I imagined was possible. She achieved almost perfect grades at school, whilst attending endless specialist appointments and trying to do her best in the pool. We are incredibly proud of her. She is finally able to enjoy a well earned break and celebrate her birthday.

The MENTAL game!! 🧠⚡️
@change.fully

It’s 80% Mental…. 20% Physical!!

The difference between performing and actually dominating. You can train all you want but what are you doing for your mental game?

Something I have been incorporating into my routine is really locking into the mental side of my training…. @change.fully new books “Mental Mastery” & “The mindful athletes journal” really helping me with the process🤝🏽

“ Mental mastery” allows me to learn from top athletes and experts, helping me handle pressure, bounce back from sets back and stay focused

“The mindful athlete journal” prompts me with question to better understand what drives me as an athlete and a person - beyond just the wins and the losses!!

You want to level up your game… take the step and lock in where it all starts 🧠

Most people struggle to define their purpose. It’s one of the most difficult questions for people to answer. What’s your purpose? This tool helps you articulate your purpose in a simple and meaningful way. I designed it to use with elite athletes, coaches, leaders and people searching for their own purpose...
